Heya -
So, I'm planning on moving out in August 2021, into a house (plan on taking a mortgage). It won't be easy, but I got a few questions for anybody who has moved out like this.
I'm scared of being alone, it sounds stupid and whatnot - but when I was alone in my family's house for 4 days I was scared shitless - I closed all the doors and made sure all blinds were down. I guess it's just the feeling of loneliness and not knowing what'll happen if somebody were to break it? I've always had somebody in the house with me I suppose - except the odd occasion or two.
I'm also scared about finance and whatnot - it'll be an investment, a good investment, but I need to save up a lot on top of what I already have to be able to get it.
I'm looking at around £6000-£8000 a year for all bills (mortgage, electricity, gas, etc). Before you comment "that's so cheap" - it's because I plan on moving to Scotland, stuffs much cheaper and different up there. ( 2-3 bedroom semi-detached )
I'd want that 6-8 grand saved up by the time I move out - so I know I have one year's worth of bills free of charge.
How do I just stop worrying/overthinking about it? And what would be a good way to just get some extra cash from now till August to help out with getting that goal?
Also is renting out rooms to people (who I know personally), a good idea? To get money to pay for other bills, food, etc?
