I thought that was only for college? Also, up till high school, education is free in the US if you are going to a public school, at least to my knowledge. It is funded through taxes obviously and based on the school they would take donations/fundraising especially for certain departments. Private schools and colleges are not free (I believe there are some exceptions where going to college is covered for around 2 years but I'm not too sure and would vary based on state). I feel like getting paid for going to high school really doesn't make sense, college is different as your responsibilities and financial situation would likely be different compared to when you are in high school and also college isn't a requirement while high school is.In my country, you actually do not pay to go to school (there is of course taxes who covers a bit, but you don't really pay it unless you earn gold money) and we get paid to go to school, if we have more than 15% absence from school then we lose that money.
