Hi,

I see a lot of people’s resources getting leaked including some of my own, in which the user has been banned for doing so. The user had 0 posts, 0 reactions and really only bought resources to leak them.

My proposal is, a user should have to have X amount of X (likes, reactions, something else) in order to purchase a resource or even a setting for authors to enable/disable this feature.

I think it’d prevent a lot of leaks and most authors would appreciate it. Obviously, this isn’t going to stop it fully, but it’s a start.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I am telling you this from experience. You will make less than half the revenue if you stop new-ish members from purchasing.
You can ask all the other big resource sellers, and I'm sure they'll stand by my point.

You don't realize just how much impact new members have on this forum.
Okay, but new members also seem to be a root cause of resources being leaked. It goes both ways.

If it's optional which it has been expressed as such, then you're arguing something completely redundant. Some people don't want new people buying their resources so this allows them to make it such. If you want to allow everybody to buy your resource, then don't use the option to disable it. Simple right?
That's not the point we're arguing on. He claimed that if new users couldn't purchase resources, then there would be less leaks.
The point of making a suggestion 'thread' is to have different viewpoints on it.

Completely false. At least in my case. Back when I used to only get a few leakers here and there, I would eventually find them. All of them had over 50 posts, a pfp and seemed like a genuine member. Only around 2-3 had posts in the hundreds.

Just to prove my point. Here are my MCM statistic:

(Keep in mind I don't use MCM resource as my main platform for selling resources. These are passive purchases, without any updates or ads.)
Now, as you could tell. Only 1 out of 11 members have more than 20 messages. The rest have zero, and 2 have around 10 messages. (Search them up if you'd like)
Now imagine you don't let them purchase your resource. Would sales only drop by 50%? I doubt it, probably more.

I've already got this listed in my plans for our resource system's improvement:

The criteria will be set by the author per resource should they choose to add criteria.
This is already planned, so I'll deny this suggestion.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion nonetheless.
