Hi, I'm looking to setup a bungeecord network but I don't know what kind of things I'd need. I'm experienced with Factions servers but I've never used bungee.

Lobby - 3-5 plugins

Bungeecord - No plugins

Factions - 50 plugins and estimated 30 players daily, this is more than I'm expecting I just want to be safe.

Cannon testing - 10-30 plugins with 30 players daily, 60x60 chunk plots with tons of TNT going off each second. Don't think that has to due with ram though?

I have a 12 gig server with E5 1620V2 cpu. If this isn't enough ram just put what you think I need and I will get more.

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Ouch, Cannon testing would need like 6gb and a good cpu.

I'd think you need a bigger server than 12 gig.
Lobby would need like 756mb,
Bungeecord like 512mb
Factions probably like 4 gigs (Depends what your players like to do if they like making lava monsters {kills cpu & ram lmao, fun to do on huge servers imo} or if they like blowing up tnt alot. Or, they just like survival building/raiding with minimal tnt.)

Not very helpful advice, when he has numerous servers he's looking for and you only say "like half a gig" which is exactly what i said... just worded differently.

Sounds good, you know how much ram a cannon testing server would need? 60x60 plots and 30 plugins max
Read my advice ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It would work pretty well.

Awesome, I will upgrade to 16 gigs most likely. :) Thanks for the advice.

I think my CPU can handle it, from what the server host told me it's quite powerful. Do you know how good it is?

Remember, your OS needs about 1GB ram for general use.
And mysql... and stuff.
If you have a 12gb server, and you are using all 12 for mc servers, then your OS will have to take some from the servers which would be overloading.

Didn't know that. I might go ahead and do just cannon testing and a small private server on the side with 2 gigs or something. Thank you.
Thanks :D

I kinda overdid the ram for uhm cannon testing, saying 6gb, but all depends if your players like making it full of tnt, then blowing it up.
Just use 3gb for cannon testing to start
But ye, OS needs about a gb, and everything you install (apache, mysql, phpmyadmin, etc) needs ram and cpu power aswell.

Do you know if my CPU is good? I'm being told by the owner of the host it's amazing but ofc that could be a biased opinion

It's recommended That you spare 1GB Ram for every 10 Players Online. Hope This Helped.

Who the fuck said this?
You?
Not good advice imo, A 6gb server can run like 120 players (vanilla).
Easy.

Also, Macrolect your cpu is pretty good for minecraft

I'm not dedicated hosting so I'm pretty sure I don't need to spare a gig for OS and MySQL.
