Hey,

Recently I've been having to report a lot of posts on my threads for people posting dumb and irrelevant comments. I usually have to wait around 1-2 weeks before my reports get solved. Fair enough there is thousands of users on this website and there is probably hundreds of reports each day. But, it needs to get sorted in my opinion.

So basically I am proposing an idea of adding a new staff position/role to MC-Market. Report Moderator. Their duties would be to focus all on reports from users and the Support Requests. This way, staff can focus more on moderating chat box, forums etc and not have to deal with as much Reports.


The main positives would be:
  • Little bit easier job for other staff.
  • Quicker responses to Support Requests and Reports.
  • Less private message spam to staff such as...
"OMG tell this kid to stop posting dumb and pointless replies on my thread!!!"

OR

"Uhh hey Doge, sorry to bother you. Please can you read my support request. Ive been waiting for a day now"


I'd love to hear what you guys think of this suggestion.

Many reports need moderator authority to be handled..
Support requests get handled or assigned to a moderator+ very quickly.

What you're really suggesting is more moderators.
We've had a lot of leaves recently, and ivain and M6Gaming was recently added to the mod team.
Once they settle in, I'm sure you'll find that reports are getting caught up.

Just hang in there with the rest of us.
If we need staff, staff will be chosen.

I 100% agree with you that Support Requests get solved very quickly but if we had staff specifically for reports, they will be even faster.

What I am aiming at most is Reports:

They do take a long time to get solved and as you can see, a lot of people are agreeing which means a lot of people are having the same issue that I am. Non or the less, I respect your opinion and what you are trying to say.

You're pretty much suggesting what the Moderator rank is.

Moderating the forum consists of: Doing reports and answering support requests. Those are the tasks of the moderator.
Even if I were to add another staff rank, I really don't know many people who would qualify for any position.

I think he meant a staff position SOLELY for reports and some support requests that mod- can handle. I personally like it, I think it would be a great addition.

Like BeBos said, this is exactly the role of a moderator. The duties of a moderator is to handle reports and support requests. I'm not too sure what else you think a moderator does.

You added a Chat Moderator Rank. That was useless at first due to Moderators having the same permissions.
Maybe you should reassess your thoughts after what I just stated.
I added the chat moderator rank not him, maybe you should reassess your knowledge.

We don't respond to reports 99% of the time. For the most part you won't see when we handle the report. What we need is more moderators, not another role to do the moderators job.

Because they are 2 different things. They both have their own roles which are very clear and it's definitely a very effective rank. Chat moderators have much less permissions. Other forums have chat moderators too because it makes sense.

When it comes to handling support requests there's no point in making another rank. There are not many support requests and most of them consist of "This user is harassing me" or "please purge my thread" which are moderator tasks too.

When it comes to handling support requests there's no point in making another rank. There are not many support requests and most of them consist of "This user is harassing me" or "please purge my thread" which are moderator tasks too.
But how are you going to speed up Reports getting solved. With my personal experience, Support Requests have quick responses. However, Report's... they take forever. Like I said, qualifying for Report Moderator shouldn't be hard. You just need to know the rules around here and have experience here.
