Hey,

Recently I've been having to report a lot of posts on my threads for people posting dumb and irrelevant comments. I usually have to wait around 1-2 weeks before my reports get solved. Fair enough there is thousands of users on this website and there is probably hundreds of reports each day. But, it needs to get sorted in my opinion.

So basically I am proposing an idea of adding a new staff position/role to MC-Market. Report Moderator. Their duties would be to focus all on reports from users and the Support Requests. This way, staff can focus more on moderating chat box, forums etc and not have to deal with as much Reports.


The main positives would be:
  • Little bit easier job for other staff.
  • Quicker responses to Support Requests and Reports.
  • Less private message spam to staff such as...
"OMG tell this kid to stop posting dumb and pointless replies on my thread!!!"

OR

"Uhh hey Doge, sorry to bother you. Please can you read my support request. Ive been waiting for a day now"


I'd love to hear what you guys think of this suggestion.

But how are you going to speed up Reports getting solved. With my personal experience, Support Requests have quick responses. However, Report's... they take forever. Like I said, qualifying for Report Moderator shouldn't be hard. You just need to know the rules around here and have experience here.
Unfortunately that's not the case. Giving anyone any sort of staff rank is a really big deal. With any sort of staff tag, you're representing the forum. Maturity and professionalism are sometimes a big issue on here when it comes to selecting members. I take everything in account: grammar, warnings, contributions, reputation, etc. And I do it in a very picky way.

To be honest, I'd rather have a bit slower report times than low quality staff members.

And yes, reports are slow right now but that's because some of us are extremely busy. I realize that shouldn't be a excuse but I'm definitely planning to expand the team.

Right now, you're basically saying you want to add this rank because reports are being handled slow. A new rank will not help at all with this situation.

If there was a new rank with 2-3 members doing the role, I believe it will help because they are focussing all on responding to Reports. I do agree that there is a lot of immature members on this site, I understand it is hard to find staff.

You still seem to be missing the entire point. What is the new rank going to do? The main task of moderators is to do reports. They barely do anything else as there are barely any support requests. A new rank will do exactly nothing.

A possible alternative solution would just to "assign" moderators to a certain task (say, half the mods work on reports, and the other half on support requests) so instead of having to work on both they will just focus and put all their attention on the one task. Of course they would take turns on the tasks so it wouldn't be too repetitive for them.

I partially agree with you. I have made reports over a month ago and they still haven't been sorted. It's getting ridiculous now!

Has the thought that your reports are being ignored ever come to mind? Maybe because they are stupid.
My reports get sorted very quickly. 9/10 times I get an answer in less than 10 min.

If there are barely any support requests what exactly are moderators doing because it doesn't seem like they are doing anything if that's the case. I remember hearing one of the moderators bragging in the shoutbox about doing 4 or 5 reports a day. I assumed they had support requests to deal with... apparently just those 4 reports.

What are you talking about? Kappa Kappa I was referring to if staff are ignoring reports, they are just lazy and bad. I guess they are all then if mine and others reports aren't been sorted.

Wow! That is 1 report! What about the other hundreds of people that don't get theirs answered?
Well, I trashed all other reports. Only one available. I was not saying that it doesn't take long for others. You called me out for lying, which I obviously wasn't. That is why I responded as I did.

The oldest report in the queue is from yesterday aside from a few assigned to BeBosny from last week.

I made reports and never received the notification of it being resolved. I just checked my last thread and yes, everything was sorted. I would say to close this but A LOT of other people agreed with me and they also say they are still waiting.

I read through the thread, and it seems what people want is not a new staff position, but more mods. (AS BeBosny pointed out). I think that's the solution: just add more mods. Yes, take your time to ensure quality, but add the eventually.
