Their opinions are irrelevant though, if you’re going to sell something that’s another person’s work without permission then anyone using it is violating intellectual property rights. They shouldn’t be profiting off other people’s work, and if they’re developers like they claim to be then they’ll have no problem making a core themselves.everybody that sells hcf cores will disagree, even the top resource on mcm is an ihcf fork

Making an HCF core is easy. It literally requires the knowledge of such basic things, for example: linked lists, how databases work, how to multi-thread, and extremely basic things like caching with sets, and understanding of how OOP works. This experience should all be gained at least I'd say 4-5 months in after learning Java properly and not just looking at other people's code/skidding/watching Bukkit tutorials from people like TheBCBroz.that is capable of making own HCF core from scratch
It's certainly not easy for DoctorDark, imagine if you put so much time into making a project and in the end people just forked it, changed a few lines of code and added some basic code and re-sold it for like $30. 90% > of the work is his, yet it's being re-sold at the price of a core that's been custom made. By now everyone re-selling these things have probably earned more than what DoctorDark earned off it.so it is easier for people to change couple of things in iHCF and resell
I think it needs to happen, it's not fair to the person who made it originally (DoctorDark) and you technically can't use it.I remember couple of years ago there was thread about banning iHCF forks from selling on this site and I think staff team did a big mistake when they denied this proposal.

Also, if DoctorDark ever wanted to he could easily DMCA takedown a server using a fork of it. If I was using an iHCF fork and was running a server with more than 150 players, I'd probably be stressing over it constantly.

Not trying to thread trash btw, just stating something that needed to be said on an interesting topic.
Just a quick thing here - iHCF is distributed on GitHub using an MIT license (since 2016 at least), so anyone is free to redistrubite, modify or sell their own version/fork.Making an HCF core is easy. Yeah, someone linked me a profile post from DoctorDark on MCM that he made a while ago saying that anyone could re-distribute it. Didn't realize he allowed this. I'm pretty sure in the past there was no license on GitHub for iHCF, but I'm not sure, thanks for the heads up though!Just a quick thing here - iHCF is distributed on GitHub using an MIT license (since 2016 at least), so anyone is free to redistrubite, modify or sell their own version/fork.

(thread was bumped, so though I would add this)
