I think that Notch should be invited and allowed to attend despite his various controversies. If you disagree with me, I understand where you are coming from, but he IS the creator of the game so It would be stupid not to invite him or give him some sort of recognition.

Kinda understand it, like Ghast said. Minecraft's playerbase is 8-13 year olds. These kids are very influenceable and having a public figure with such 'radical' thoughts come to a major event will influence them.
He's not at all radical? Microsoft are just being shills.

To normal left wing corporations, any views that are different would be considered radical I guess, we see the same stuff on cnn and msnbc when the little reporters come on and cry about Russia

I think it's kinda BS, to be honest. You shouldn't deplatform the creator just for some political views. I get maybe not, like, encouraging an interview or something with him if you want to distance yourself from his political views (which aren't exactly offensive, although I don't necessarily agree with them all), but removing him from the splash screens and NOT EVEN INVITING HIM TO HIS OWN ANNIVERSARY isn't necessary.

If you honestly believe that him being a potential critic of the game and harboring negative sentiment about Minecraft played no part in him getting banned from this event you're incredibly naive. As for his tweets, it seems that he hasn't conformed to the liberal way of thinking that the media and all the SJWs want everyone to believe and therefore he is a terribly ignorant and sexist pig. Everyone run! He's a right winger with a differing opinion he's EVIL!!!

You both misunderstand me. Microsoft excluded Notch because his outspoken views are at odds with Microsoft's. I couldn't care less about Notch, like a lot of other people.

I don't think I've seen anyone claim he's sexist. Or a pig. Just that he's said some controversial stuff about race and transgenders, namely that transgenders are only that gender in their mind (which really shouldn't be controversial, because that's what pro-transgender scientists also say), it's ok to be white (which is innocent but everyone relates it to 4chan because  that's the news for you) and that privilege doesn't exist (which i'm going to have to disagree with, but again, it's not really offensive to me)

Nobody on Mc-Market has called him a sexist or a transphobic. The Verge article where this story was reported does though and they also call him an online troll. His Twitter feed also has some really wonderful comments that call him some fun names xD.

Well, you can't control Twitter. And I didn't see that on the Verge article, though I did see them call him a troll.

Yeah I know you can’t control anyone online. To me it just seems they banned him for being a right winger at this point.

 It sucks, but it's not exactly unexpected, sadly.

That’s the world we live in unfortunately. I’m curious what his former coworkers/friends at Mojang think about him and his ban.

Microsoft recently announced that Notch would not be invited/welcomed at the 10 year anniversary event due to his opinions on the current state of Minecraft. How does everyone feel about this?
Not that he'd come anyway!

I don't even follow notch that actively and I can confidently say that he doesn't deserve to be welcomed on that event. When you take his comments and opinions in account, it makes very much sense that he isn't welcome. Would you invite someone who constantly publicly essentially trashes your company?

I'm not saying he shouldn't say and do what he's doing because I agree on majority of his points related to Minecraft but he/we definitely shouldn't be surprised.

He made the game and I think it's fair for him to have an opinion on how the game he created is being updated and ran after he sold it. As for his personal opinions, they don't really relate to the game. People are entitled to their own opinion on any matter, society shouldn't exclude someone for an opinion. His professional life was still fine.
