I am not sure why anyone is condoning this, but this is wrong for obvious reasons.

First, IF someone does let you join their staff team for $10, who’s to say what role you will be? You could be given helper role, and never receive a promotion.

Second, if you are a horrible staff member (not saying you are), the person you would be paying could then be put in a sticky situation.

Third of all, the whole point of being staff is earning it. Going through the application process, getting to know the rules, etc. If you are simply paying for staff, it will not be nearly as satisfying.

I definitely agree with your statement, thus I got a few points that are worth mentioning, which you so happen to not include.

Offering paid services is definitely a reasonable idea BUT something you should ONLY do when you're reputable enough. With no reputation, vouches & the bare minimum of messages to even be able to post a thread is not a good starting point, it just makes you look desperate / unprofessional. Also, being specific would be handy; give or take, the only paid positions that are usually involved within a community are managerial or at some cases Administrative, something I do not think you're quite ready for, with all due respect. I'd highly recommend doing work for free with some vouch copies in return, the amount could be anything as long as it's reasonable and nothing insane like 30 vouch copies, haha. It is the same way as I personally started out & I hope these few tips were of use to you, as a relatively new figure on the market.
