Hello! I'm the owner of an OP Prison server who's looking for a developer I can work closely with over the next month (and hopefully many more months past that) to complete some big projects I'd like done on my server! I've owned this server for a few years now and have built a small, close community, but have never really invested into proper development (aside from one-off freelancing developers now and then). I'd like to take the first step into growing our community by welcoming a part-time developer onto my team!
For a general idea of where we're at with our server, right now potential projects include:
- Gang Battles built off of our current Gangs plugin, with a fully-fledged Gangs Arena
- Custom enchantment systems rework (revamping our item leveling system, how enchant maxes work in general, adding some new enchants, etc.)
- Revamped ranking & prestige system, with a few unique twists
- Physical minigames built into spawn/other builds
- Any other project deemed a priority during our time together (could range from a pvp/mob arena to a custom spawners rework)
- [and a few little things/bug fixes that will come and go as we work together]
Requirements:
I'm looking for someone with prison experience mainly. This is because part of your job working for our server will be coming up with ideas & improving existing ones of the server, as well as focusing on how they can be properly monetized. Your main job will obviously be to make all of this come to life and to provide support after the initial release phase of any project.
Along with the aforementioned, I'm looking also for someone who:
- Has worked with other servers for an extended period of time previously (and has vouches).
- Can demonstrate a deep understanding of modern OP Prison servers and how they can be properly monetized.
- Can communicate well. I can't stress how important this one is to my staff team and me.
- Is fairly dynamic in their workflow. Our projects will vary wildly from one to the next, and will often require shifting skillsets.
- Proficient with Java (obviously), MySQL, and Mongo. Python is a bonus but not a necessity. Use of Git through our organization will be a requirement.
- Is at least 18 years of age.
Payment:
- I am not going to be paying an hourly rate as I don't believe that's a fair way to judge the quality and quantity of code being produced and bugs being fixed. You and I will agree on a fair price on a per-project basis. You will be paid bi-weekly for the total sum of projects/bug fixes you completed during that time.
- I expect the total amount of work to be done to total around $1000 USD at the end of the first month, however, this is not a guarantee and it could easily end up being less or more by then.
