If I remember correctly, it was Hitler that said
"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."
And I'm sure that was the prime reason he used to sell to the German people to justify war (Economical). He knew the real reason behind it.
What Hitler believed in is irrelevant to the cause of the war. He couldn't have gone to war without supporters. And people supported him because of the bad economic situation in Germany at that time. But anyhow, even if it was entirely a religious war, I'm not sure why I want to argue that. I mean, it only strenghthens my point. That is all religion has to offer.
