High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I am curious as well! I heard that some big builders use voxel and can have an easier time mapping out how they want the map to look / feel.

I know you didn't tag me, but I just thought I'd share. :p Personally, I never create a physical draft/plan of what my build will look like, but I usually plan most of a build, or at least parts of it out in my head before I start building and as I'm in the middle of a project. But I know a lot of builders who like to create little in-game models of their builds before they start them.

I vary my planning depending on the project. For a great deal of my projects (that I build for myself, at least), I will just jump right in and begin building without much planning, and make adjustments as I go. If I need something built quicker, I might outline a general shape of what I want with different colored wool, color coding sections and details of the building I'm creating. For larger projects like spawns or towns, I like to create scale maps (i.e. each block representing 32x32 blocks).

When it comes to finishing a build, I'm not particularly good either. Terrain I'm decent at, but that's because it's a very linear process for me.
