Okay. The server administration section thingy is inactive as hell, so I will post this here as it seems like a little more activity is going on here, and also these are questions, I am not buying.

I don't know if this is stupid as hell to ask, but my server is almost done, and I am planning on getting a host.

I am wondering on how you transfer your server-files from you desktop (or wherever u got it) into your host.
Like, do you have to take out the "run.bat" file or do you simply just compromise the file and somehow transfer it.

The second thing is, if I have 100 players on my server, how much ram should I have? (I got a faction server, that possibly will lunch in december).

The last thing is a question that many asks, what is the best host?

(Sorry if the first thing sounds freaking stupid, but with all the reasearch I did, It just came some stupid mcprohosting which is shit, and it had a bad tutorial. So I would appreciate and leave a positive rating, if you are kind enough to answer:))

Disclaimer: Sorry for bad grammar, this was made on the bus with an iPhone;)

Once you purchase the server, you get your control panel login info mailed to you. In most cases, your multicraft FTP login info too but that depends from host to host.

Once you've recieved that, you have to download FileZilla. Filezilla allows you to transfer files between your computer and your Minecraft server. Most hosts have a tutorials on this, if not, you can find many on YouTube.

As for your players, it all depends on many factors like world size, amount of heavy plugins etc.
Most hosts have the option to upgrade instantly so I suggest starting low and getting hire plans as your player count grows. Saves you money too in case you don't get the amount of players you expected.

If you need cheap hosting, feel free to message me.

You can transfer files with a FTP program, you can use Filezilla client and there is no need to transfer the run.bat.

I can´t tell you the exact ram that you will need because that depend on your plugin list and worlds. Also what the players are doing at the same moment but for 100 players playing at the same time at list in our hosting company you can go with the 6GB Plan and it will support it.

Yep, I agree with everything BeBosny said above. To answer your "what is the best host" question, I suppose it'll depend on your budget.

NodeCraft (https://nodecraft.com) is by far my favorite Minecraft hosting company. Everything about them is perfect. At $10/GB though, it's pretty expensive. Definitely worth the cash if you're okay with spending a bit more for premium service. I have purchased a server from them, so I'm speaking from experience.

Shockbyte (https://shockbyte.com) is my favorite budget host. Although I have yet to physically try a server, I've heard that their performance is great but their support response times are lacking. At $2.50/GB, you can't go wrong.

Inbefore kids reccomending shady and crappy ovh resseller hosts, I just suggest going with a bigger party like beastnode, not cheap but you get what you pay for too. Also ram is highly debate-able I run an opprison server with currently 190 players that has a total of 6 gigs of ram assigned to it, of wich only 2 are used. So yeah, also strongly depends on type of server you are running (Factions, kitpvp , etc).

If you speak to the host before purchasing, if they are a decent host, most will offer to migrate it and set it up for you for free. :)

Or wait until December 20th and purchase unlimited RAM. Just kidding, that was poor advertisement even though you said you aren't buying. If you buy from a per GB host, I recommend getting 4GB's of RAM as that's all you'll need.

As well, just upload all the files to your server via FTP once you've purchased hosting. A smart host will have already blocked certain extensions such as .bat since most panels don't require those files.

Finally, the best host, there is none. Personally I'd say Fallout-Hosting is good for shared. If you're willing to wait until the 20th, I can help you out since I'll be providing unlimited RAM with my company.

If you're interested or have any other questions, send me a PM.

I've had 120 players on 2GB in the past.
I run 190 players on 6 gigs, 1.5 seems fine.

4gb can handle 30 players, DEPENDING on worlds, players, plugins etc... For a simple survival server with maybe 30 players and like 20 plugins maybe 5gb is fine.
 Sorry about that, i was typing fast and i didnt realise that i typed 12GB.
