Re-Allow Account Sales

Hello. Before going on a rant, here's why I'm suggesting we re-allow account sales.

  1. Obviously, the OG market is still alive. Most people are still doing account deals through skype, and it would continue the exchange of account on here.
  2. It's possible to put a large yellow banner (similar to investments) stating there is a risk of the account being locked by Mojang, that the sale of accounts violates the TOS, and that the products are not guaranteed.
  3. Allow the sale of regular accounts (migrated): I myself have many alt accounts, that I normally sell outside of MCM, and it would be nice to have a section for those. This section could even say that scam reports are not allowed.

I disagree on this for two major reasons:

1. Marc IRL, a representative from Mojang, has told us in the past that he literally doesn't have anywhere near enough proof of our activities to have the legal team take us down. Bigger companies, such as Facebook, have tried to charge lawsuits against individual parties for violating their terms of service. They lost that case. And remember, we're talking Facebook here. What can Mojang hope to do in an international law suit against some kids who violated their TOS?

2. Even if they could, Mojang doesn't care enough to sue this site. They aren't losing any significant quantity of money here. They still sell plenty of their $27 cards. They wouldn't spend massive quantities on a lawsuit they know they'll never win. That's counter-intuitive, as they'd lose a ton of cash. And they only reason they ever would care about this market is lost cash.

No they wouldn't and I know this for a fact.

Firstly, account selling was here for over a year and was removed at the discretion of the admins and not Mojang.

Also, Marc (a Mojang employee) already said he contacted Mojang's legal team and they said nothing can be done.

Mojang can't take this site down. (They already tried). The worst thing that could happen would be accounts getting locked.

Well guys, I agree with you all. And in light of all this, I was thinking about a forum where you, a seller, can give out who you are and do private deals. But if it were through Skype, Mojang people might get you on Skype and shut down accounts.

Anyhow, thanks for showing me the "other side."
