Hi, I'm Kalob.

Find out why I made this thread...
Hello everyone.

I've been browsing this forums for a few months, looking over what people offer. As a web developer, I am shocked to see some of the people are doing so well on this site.

A web developer is, consequently, someone who should be able to create something special and unique. As I read over the many, many, threads that offer development services, I see only inexperienced developers who sell customized templates.

Editing an image, throwing in a few lines of code and calling it your own, is not what web development is about. A cheap website is not a good website.

If you're paying less than $20 for a site, you're not getting anything custom. You're not working with an experienced developer. You're not working with a person who takes pride in their work.

Some of the more popular devs on here, I see, use the same 3 templates for their customers. How can the customers even be satisfied with that -- when you order a website, do you not check to see that it is unique? I know that most of the developers remove any trace of a template, but the designs all resemble each other in an astounding fashion that no one has seemed to catch.

I was just wondering why people waste good money.

I will be around on the forums, thanks for reading.

Since this is a forums where I must offer or request something, I will offer web development services.

I am very experienced (actually experienced) in many languages. Advanced HTML5/CSS3, PHP, JS, AngularJS/Node (new, but I know my way around it), and Java. I do have a website (https://kalob.net), on the website I do not offer a look into other websites I have worked on, but I do have a list of my professional experiences.

I suppose the amount that I will charge will be on a per-website basis. If you want a simple splash page, I will not charge you an insane amount. Almost anything involving PHP/Angular (advanced web apps) you can plan on paying a decent amount of money for, but we can talk about it.

I don't have a fancy image to show you, but I could make one and update this thread in the future.

I'm interested in making contacts and expanding my portfolio. I would love to do some websites that are for something professional (i.e not just Minecraft). I do not have the time to take on more than 1 big project at once, but I will take into consideration all that talk to me.

I am willing to do a few vouch sites, depending on what you want.

Thanks for reading.

FINALLY, someone who agrees with me! I am too astonished how people on here undervalue web development. I paid $400 for a completely custom, private Xenforo theme last year and upon telling MCM members how much I paid for it, they called me crazy! I'm majoring in web design and development myself at UCF, so I know everything that is involved.

I find it to be insulting, honestly, that people charge for doing almost nothing, and the real developers have to lower their prices to compete.

Same thing is happening with plugins. Someone posts a request and a good developer posts a reasonable price, then you get all the trash devs that start to do it for "cheaper," and then you get that random one guy that will do it in "Skript" for a buck.

Proof you're as good as you say you are? Qualifications? Portfolio? Your website says your 18... How much experience can an 18 year old actually have? I have ab IPBoard (not live) which so far has cost me 600 for the theme and 300 for the software, I agree with you but I would love some evidence of what you're saying...

Are you aware of what "responsive" means?

I am probably one of the only developers on this website who has worked for an actual company, I work as an intern at http://developertown.com on top of the other countless projects on my GitHub (link on my website). If you really doubt that I know what I am talking about -- send me a message on Skype.

Looks good !:) I agree with all your points you made about this website. On the other hand, on spigot I find a bunch of great developers for a cheap price. I don't think it's because they don't take pride in their work, but because they know the community has a smaller budget.

I'm really annoyed at this... You've made 5 websites and your 'proof' is that you worked for free for a company (their website genuinely looks great) and you're advertising strategy is to try and tell mcm members they're services are shit?
I spent two weeks interning for an electrical contracting company when I was a kid and ending up working as a fisherman. Your internship means nothing. All I'm asking for is proof. Show us an active, working site. If I were going to hire you (I'm not) I would think its reasonable to ask for any qualifications you have as well. Back up your claims! Im not suggesting you can't, you probably can but please show them. It may help you in the future

The purpose of this post was not to get hired (if you read the top half), I only included that stuff because it is required on this forum.

I did, however, include that I will create vouch copies for people like you -- who have a genuine distrust of developers.

Thanks for the post, very informative.
