Pretty straightforward, how much would it cost me to get my name on a map submission to obtain a realms cape. I need honest answers from people who have experience in this area or generally know the value. Please don't reply with answers similar to "a lot" because I know it's a lot.

For real, I have seen some people ASK for upwards to 100$. It pretty much depends on if the user wants to wait and sell high or get rid of it and sell low.

I'm actually really glad you made this thread, Sloth. I've been wondering this for a while; the realms cape really attracts me. Now, I've talked to someone who has the cape (Springstof) and according to him, it's damn near impossible to get this cape without actually contributing to a map. Marc runs this program, and he has a lot of experience with people trying to bypass the rules to get what they want (with people on HF and MCM being prime examples).
In addition, apparently Vek has also warned community members that Marc is really vigilant when it comes to realms capes, saying that he'll remove it if there's any suspicious behavior with the IP of a realms cape holding account. This essentially means that it can't be bought or sold either.

Pointless discussion. These capes can simply not be bought. First of all, the mapmakers have some kind of integrity (I know that may sound weird for some people, but it's true, not everything can be bought for money). Second of all, the map curator (Marc) is not some kind of machine that will just accept maps blindly. If there are random names on a submission, he will probably want some kind of explanation. There is no mapmaker who has the cape that will assist you with this for any price at all. If you want the Realms cape, you should practice your building/mapmaking skills.
Springstof is right. I told people that esnring the cape is difficult and there is no way to buy it. Nor would any of us actually sell the cape in general.
I'm not expecting you to read the entire thread, but some of us have decided to actually attempt to build and submit maps, like you suggested.
I'm aware of everything you mentioned and agree with it. The only part that concerns me is the part in bold. If we submit a map, genuinely built by us, it will have random names on it since none of us are known in the map-making community. We don't have any past content to back us up, nor do we have known builders to vouch for us. Honestly, I'm not even on Twitter (mentioning this because I think it's the primary method to contact Marc).
So I just wanna ask you, what exactly do you mean by that line in bold? What kind of proof or explanation could we offer that would be enough?
