Hey MC-Market! You must have been dying to know what has happened with the past couple of days.

Update
MC-Market was set for an update on Xenforo for less than a day. However, we have experienced issues which prevented us from finishing the update within one day; which instead took three days.

With the first day and a half, we had experienced heavy DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) which made us come to a conclusion of changing hosts.

As we were changing hosts, Mick with a different timezone was sleeping as the transfer was complete. This took up two days which leads us to our third day.

Mick had to take care of personal business, which then he left the update to be handled with tjrgg. With that being said, MC-Market has updated successfully, but with a few bugs that has occurred along the way.

Bugs Information
As we upgraded the forum, this allowed us to fix the current bugs.

This upgrade allows us to fix the following:
  • TFA: Two Factor Authentication, this will allow Premium members and above have a double security layer. If someone else obtains your password and attempts to login, they will be asked for a code that is sent to your mobile.
We have fixed the issue with two-step verification for only "Email Confirmation", we are still trying to resolve "Verification Code via App"
  • Signature: You are currently unable to use pictures or see them at this moment. *FIXED*
  • Theme: Users cannot switch to a dark theme. *FIXED*
  • and a few more.
With the update of xenforo, we can fix the current and any upcoming issues.

We understand that most of you are very upset as no one was notified and we are very sorry for what has happen. We do not have any upcoming maintenance at this moment, so rest assured any future updates should not take longer than 3 days without a valid reason.

Rest assured, any update we do will be alerted 1-3 days before.

It was only 3 days, chill. I piety the people who have no life..
I don't think you realize, mc-market isn't just some forum, but many of us rely on it for sales etc, so it being down for 3 whole days did affect us.

3 days for a popular forum where the main objective was to upgrade XenForo is outrageous.
I understand your frustration, the only thing we can do now is learn from our mistakes. But let's say we were to listen to you, just you. What would you like us to do? I'm not going to say you're wrong because you're right. This shouldn't of taken 3 days, but sadly it did and we can't go in the past and change it, only learn from what we did wrong.

So i'll ask, what would you like us to do?

I understand, there was nothing you could do at the time, but the fact that you left us waiting with false ETA's made me a bit impatient, seeing as you wouldn't tell us what was going on, we assumed that you were 'working' the whole time.

Also, i remember hearing something about a suprise in the shop ;)

I understand that, Mick should have told all of us, including myself. I was in the dark as some members of the community knew that. We will know better, I'm terribly sorry for the issue, it won't happen again.

Announce downtime in advance via the Twitter account.
Add a Twitter widget to the sidebar of the site under the posts and ads.

It is good that Mick had a nice nap while all of us were losing money. ^_^

Is Mick going to even comment about what happened? He's the owner of the site, he could at least have the decency to apologize for screwing up and losing money for all the sellers on this site.

Technically you guys haven't "Lost" any money from the down time, you just haven't gained money.

I'd like you to hire a sysadmin who isn't a fucking monkey with some of the money you earn from ads/premium/supreme.

All medals are manually given out, I don't think Mick doesn't want to waste over 30 days on giving manual medals to each user for this. Also, this would be pointless. It'll just marked as history of a mistake we have dealt with.

Again, rocket0191 was the only one online at the time during this, I told Mick that he could have waited for myself or Jesse to handle this. In future reference, we will not be having a downtime for 3 days.

I like how Mick stilled hasn't said anything about this
I believe he is offline during this time, he lives in an Australian timezone.
