Hey All,

I’ve seen a lot of talk about the quality of developers in this community, and I believe they are very untrue. There are some very good developers in this community and I’ve compiled a list (just as a reference) of the developers I would personally recommend to buy from.

- PTech
- Futurize
- joeleoli
- Eric
- 1017Ethan (web design)
- kev626
- lightlord323
- everful
- Huli
- tokyojack

If you would like to get on this list, shoot me a PM with your GitHub and proof of ownership and I’ll add you if it’s any good. The code will be thoroughly vetted, so don’t be insulted if I bring something up.

Let me know if there’s anyone I should add to this! Hopefully it’ll help weed out the skids from the actual developers.

Cheers,
Eric

That’s cool of you to add joeleoli as much as you guys fight. Cool that you’re not being bias

Joeleoli is not a bad developer. He just doesn't listen to criticism.

also, suggestion, add kev626 to this list.

also everful, seen his libraries and use them sometimes, besides the slight thing i had to change with his redis library, his code is very good.

I mean he did add himself to the list haha
It’s a list of people I know can code well. I can code well, so I added myself. You’ll also notice I didn’t add myself first for that exact reason.
Add lightlord323, he's insane at java.

I like the idea of this list and agree with it :)

I hope someday after more work I will end up on it too :)

Yea I don’t let my personal interactions with people get in the way of things. I’ve made my points to Joel very clear and all I hope is that he listens and improves on it.

Is this list only for Minecraft devs?
Any developers can be on here, primarily minecraft related devs.

Some of these devs have expertise in all sorts of stuff (like I have experience in professional software development in Java, JavaScript, PHP, Bash, Python and C).

Just curious, what do you count as "professional software development". Do you work in the software industry making $60k+ a year?

That's below the general average salary of a professional software engineer, where are you living?

$60k+ is the average entry salary.

I've been developing for years and I'd personally be embarrassed to call myself a professional developer in a certain language without at least a few years of industry experience in it.

I've seen it a lot on McMarket, all of these "professional developers" and "database administrators" without a degree or even 1 year of industry experience who haven't even scratched the surface and don't know what it actually means to be a real developer or a db administrator.

I'd say you'd earn more than the average entry salary if you're a "professional developer", no?

I've worked freelance as a Java developer for 3 years, and I also have a full time software development job. Both of those are classed as "professions".
