A few suggested amends...

- Any tangible (physical item) prizes need to have a photo of the prize with OP's name and date on a piece of paper.

- OP's own staff, family, and/or employees have to be excluded from any contest they run.

- Contest that are decided by RNG, the process needs to be documented (live twitch video, etc).

I believe these additions would make sure contest are legal, and squelch any future issues like this... http://www.mc-market.org/threads/260313/

There’s no proof of it being a scam, that’s why Mick locked the other thread. I feel like this is turning into a slander thread not a suggestion thread.

No one is even talking about THAT particular contest. We're talking about contest in general, specifically future ones, and how to avoid issues. Why so defensive? You've certainly got a guilty conscience.

There's also no proof of it not being a scam, so your point is invalid. Nice try though.

You posted the thread in this thread, thus bringing the people on that thread to this one to attack me more.[DOUBLEPOST=1510177830][/DOUBLEPOST]I didn’t say there wasn’t proof of it not being a scam. I’m just stating that you keep throwing that it’s a scam when you don’t have proof.

You're the only one here who keeps bringing up the other thread. I made suggestion post to come up with solutions so that other incident doesn't happen again. You're rational is so inept. Just stop posting, it's like being bukkaked with stupid.

Lol let's not play "you brought it up"; this suggestion was made because of the contest Kyle put out and because he didn't provide you guys proof. You guys don't know that Kyle already provided proof to staff. You guys feel like you're entitled and if you're not, you think "okay, let's go create threads to get this changed" because you didn't get your way.

Again, no one was talking about that particular contest... this thread is to suggest rules or ideas to make sure future contest held on this site are both legal, fair, and to provide accountability to those holding contest. I didn't even enter that other contest, and could give two shits about the prize, but I would like to see this site be less shady, and more responsible.

Now onto your "legal" bullshit. Let me ask you this why would Mc-Market care or hold themselves liable for giveaways that are not proven to be fake. When the winner of the giveaway is satisfied?

You must be new to how the world works.[DOUBLEPOST=1510203481][/DOUBLEPOST]
Don't even make me get the list of things that are illegal and shady on this site that are being done everyday. Are you saying I should make a suggestion for Mc-Market to change there rules on selling ANY minecraft accounts? People steal, scam, jack them and more. But guess what there's no proof. And I don't even think I could count how many dislikes that suggestion would get from the community.

And just because other illegal stuff is transpiring doesn't just instantly invalidate this issue. Being in law enforcement, trust me, it's trough to turn a cheek sometimes, but it's usually just raw ignorance, in this case, not so much.

I think proof should be provided if the user entering has to do a task enable to win the giveaway and the drawing be recorded but, workers, friends, or employees should be able to join as well. If the person doesn't have to do anything to enter then who cares if you lose, all you had to post is one word on the thread.

I think you need to go back to arresting drug addicts in your nice city of Detroit. Because you clearly are a expert at that. But very clueless when it comes to a "shady" minecraft forums. Feel free to message me so I can make you look even more dumb. But other than that I'm off to do some work. Have fun!

Detroit is a nice city. However, I'm not an arresting officer. I don't see how you're making me look dumb. I made a thread bringing up valid issues and to give some solutions/feedback on fixing them. All you do is respond with anger fueled half baked responses, and douchie comebacks. You talk hard, but deep down, you're just a pretentious self-absorbed nobody who thinks they're something more than they are. A large portion of this forum is laughing at you, not with you. Now, run off to your Twitter account and take some more photos of $200 in cash for your army of Russian fake followers. YOU SO HARD BRO. Maybe you'll autograph my mousepad when your server peaks 10 concurrent?

Honestly, this is stupid as hell. It would only be logical if he did defend himself because this whole giveaway from Kyle and Zach being the winner, people have trashed them both because of it. If he wants to defend himself, why shouldn't he? You made this thread because of Kyle's giveaway.

I made this thread because his give away opens up an issue that a lot of people feel needs to be looked at. The contest rules should be tightened up for future contest. Without having any proof of the actual prize, or how the winner was selected, it leaves the contest subforum open to be exploited. Sorry some of you can't see this... hindsight is 20/20? Which means the issue doesn't really show itself until after it's happened.

I'm glad someone at least opened the suggestion instead of continuing the trash that thread.
I agree with most of the suggestion but I do have a few comments.
- For your first point, in the case of Kylew, he was buying a brand new iPad and didn't have it on him. He was giving a tangible item but he didn't have it at the time. For this, the only thing could be done is show proof of funds.
- Your second point is very debatable which the replies to this thread very clearly shows.
Honestly, after a little bit of searching (not too much) but there are many more laws you have to follow before getting to giving a prize away to an employee. If we are being completely legal on this forum then we could probably go for hours pointing things out. But that's not the point of this thread. If the giveaway poster follows the 1st and 3rd point you stated then the 2nd post isn't needed. The law very clearly states that it has to be random (worded a little better than that though). I'm mentioning legalities because for some reason that was mentioned a few times.
If all giveaway users give proof they are able to give away the thing they are giving away and then Livestream the picking of the entry because you can always redo videos of GIFs until you pick the user you wanted.
This thread honestly shouldn't use the example of Kylew so much. Mentioning it occasionally is fine because that's where this suggestion primarily stemmed from. But as shown in this thread so far and the main thread regarding Kylew's giveaway the topic creates trash which causes threads to be locked.

My issue is you've contradicted yourself some, said this wasn't about Kyle's giveaway but it clearly is because you only made it because of it. Yes, it brought it to everyone's attention but the thread was still made because of it.

So? The thread isn't to discuss his contest, it's to discuss going forward with OTHER contest. His contest which was only used as an example. I'm not sure what you're having a hard time understanding about this???
