Remove entire reputation system

Hi MC-Market,

I've been on this market almost since it began back in 2014 and this entire site has changed. It's no longer an opportunity to find quality work as the quality services are hidden inbetween these "highly reputable" community members. I used to be a really active user as I could find people that wont scam me out of every flipping dollar I own, now people are worried to use their site as what would be a "reputable" user is now just everyone that begs their staff on their server, every time they talk in discord/skype. It's worthless. Now let me get a couple examples,

^ How is that even reputation, that's just telling people the kind of person he is, it is completely irrelevant to whether he can provide a good service. Secondly, anyone that has more than 50 positive reputations is clearly begging that even dollar that leaves their paypal or enters, they must be given a reputation, just as a word of warning, reputation points aren't candies in a toffee box, you have to at least do something for them.

I had a small opportunity to discuss with Mick what his opinions were of the current system and here is the chat log. He understands that it needs changing.

My overall judgement is.

- Scrap it

or

- Enforce new guidelines & make it a rule not to beg for vouches/reputations.

If they actually appointed staff to watch the "reputation", regulate "reputation" to make sure that it pertains to trading, buying and selling only, and actually delete "reputation" that does not have anything to do with those three, then I believe it would be in a better state.

I do agree that the Reputation System should be Changed or Redone properly at least, but not evreyone who talks on skype or disocrd leaves a pos rep or whatever its not that Corrupted yet. Usually its just people giving out Vouch copies until they get the amount of rep they want lol and my rep towards Vice was for using his services and i have known him for a long time so i left it as that

unfortunately they actively said that they follow the definition stated here. My suggestion is to once again ignore the stupid, meaningless numbers and focus on the quality of the reputation. Treat it simply as we used to treat "vouches" (and many still use those). The number is irrelevant, the quality is what matters.

The system needs a major tweak to avoid people just giving +1 rep for those who they are buddies with. I suggest some sort of an evidence system. This method needs transaction evidence that is included when you do give them the +1 rep, so people can see exactly what kind of transactions you are doing. Of course this can be manipulated so the proof is in fact false, but it gives us a better attempt in improving the system.

Yes, some people abuse it. Not everyone abuses it facepalm I still do not see after 1 million threads about this topic why it should be removed? I don't get what people have against the reputation system. People complain about everything, about abusing vouches, about abusing reactions, about abusing reputation and even about abusing messages! (Post farming) Calm your tits man. Are you really bothered by someone else faking who they are? So many people are fonys in real life too, just deal with it.

If you are complaining about that people with a lot of reputation or people who abuse the reputation system scam because of it, you should not blame the reputation system for that, you should blame the people who traded with that person for that. It is your own damn decision to deal with someone, get scammed? Your own stupid fault.

Everybody keeps sugar-coating it all, saying that X causes people to get scammed, no your own mind causes you to get scammed.

Q: "Well, who can I trust then if the reputation system is not reliable?"
A: Simply nobody, don't deal with people who ask F&F. Always pay G&S, let the seller use invoices on paypal or whatever. Collect evidence, use the MC Chat system so you cannot edit messages, write emails for the sakes of it. You are responsible for whatever you do, get scammed? Your fault.

I wouldn't care that much about the reputation system being removed. I've about 50-60 more vouches on my thread. It's really funny that I take my business seriously, right? Because I do not have negative reviews it makes my point invalid? I think you are just making a small problem (verifying the vouches) huge by removing the whole system.

And your last message was just insanely hostile and you are looking for some kind of response which will hopefully help your thread, but sorry, you won't get any. Keep being hostile.

It's bs how so many reps are done based on opinions, or vouch copies - like an opinion isn't going to make some more (un)trustworthy or not, is it?

Back when I first joined, it was easy to find services that were quality. Now, it's like "wtf"? All this new reputation stuff is annoying, as stated in the OP; people false rep people on here and it makes it so much harder. Before, it was about how many reactions you had which was a pretty good system overall and better than the new reputation system.

That is probably the most stupid thing i've seen said on this topic so far, sorry. The amount of reactions is literally the one exact measurement of 'reputation' that is worse in every possible way than the current reputation system. At least this reputation system has some semblance of rationality. the number of ratings can be farmed easily by creating multiple threads, or asking your buddies to give you some more. The most effective system, imo, was the 'vouches' that preceded the official rep, since most people would display those in a spoiler in their signature, therefore putting them in easy reach.

The problem with ANY reputation system is that people go for quantity, not quality. The number of reputation you have isn't nearly as relevant as the quality of each individual review. While I agree that the current reputation system is faulty in the way it is interpreted, it's still WAY better than the stupid 'vouch' rating, or amount of reactions in general.

And above all, don't just look at the reputation alone. Look at overall behaviour, as well as portfolio if relevant. I may be one of the most active members on this site, but just because I have 3K+ reactions does not mean that I'm a better or more reliable terraformer than GuildsMC or Darastlix.[DOUBLEPOST=1498674556][/DOUBLEPOST]Damn you guys must really LOVE the meaningless ratings.
