Repetitive Scamming - Idea

I recently had an idea to stop repetitive scamming, this idea came to me when a friend of mine was the victim of repeat scamming.

I think that scam reports should have a "ticket" style report system, where you enter the MC-Market username of the person, and fill in all the boxes - then a staff member / scam resolver is informed of the thread.

Now, I think that when this report is made, the person who is being reported should get a tag next to their name (approved by the scam moderator, e.g. by clicking a button or something), something like "Report open", but sum that up in one word - obviously.

The user should only get the scam report if the proof shows that the person could have scammed - and therefore is "dangerous".

Bold has been online and not replied, this would also make people reply to their scam reports to get the badge off of their profile.

This will be very beneficial and could definitely prevent people mass scamming over a couple days.

This would be kind of dumb, because you can just easily submit a scam report against random people and they would look like a scammer with a tag next to their name. It takes the current scam resolvers enough time to actually view/approve a scam report, so there goes your reputation.

You say they are slow at their jobs... yet wanna give them more work to do? that would just make them slower since they have to deal with more work. People could just take out competition like this xD. 2 people trying to buy an OG name? Just get someone to report one and the seller won't trust him?

Usually. However I've waited 3 days to be approved. Regardless, this suggestion wouldn't help much.

I just checked. Your scam report was created beginning January. That's when we were reforming and changing things around so that's why

If this became the case, then people that make false scam reports should be banned from the website because this would be very abusable and there needs to be a system to ensure that people do not abuse it to get people they dislike scam report tags. There also needs to be something that prevents alts/low-post accounts from making scam reports as people could just go on alts and fuck with people they dislike using this.

As BeBosny says, they are checked by 24 hours - perhaps a scam report moderator could look and see if the scam is legitimate / could be legitimate, and then approve / decline.

That would totally contradict the suggestion I just accepted.

I think its outrageous that people wait over a week while a user repeat scams.

Most people are guilty even if they aren't proven (with scam reports, anyway).

So basically, I could file a scam report on someone and until the report is resolved there'd what is basically a giant devouch on their user icon. Yeah, not going to work. Its one of those ideas that are great in theory but will never work in practice.

Basically, this would allow someone to mess up someone else's reputation by using alts to consistently post scam reports/tickets.
And yes, I do expect that to happen. We've got some very immature members on this website, though I don't see a lot of them active anymore (fortunately).
And while you say they will be dealt with "quickly", I'm gonna assume its going to take a minimum of 3 hours for them to be resolved in the best of situations.

I think the community warnings will do for now, people posting "careful when dealing with this user" etc. Though I'd prefer if all people that posted those actually included the evidence they threw into the scam report.

Also, unless we're talking purely about the account business right now (where I know of no way to prevent being scammed other than getting lucky with a reliable owner), getting scammed means you failed your common sense check. Possibly, only people that are registered for a month can report?

That'd partially solve the problem I illustrated in the post I was typing while you commented that .
Anyway, another solution would be to simply allow people to see pending scam reports. Unless there's some disadvantage to it that I'm missing completely.
