While I was in the shower today, like many other times I've been in the shower, I had an idea.

So for those of you who don't know what CraftedPlugins is, or you've just never heard of it, or you want to find out the features, you can find my thread here:
http://www.mc-market.org/threads/35564/

Anyways, Now that you know the features, here's my idea.

I know for a while MCM has been working on some sort of new resource system, but what if we saved time, money, etc and changed CraftedPlugins into the MCM Resource section!

CraftedPlugins as of now has an API for about every feature on the website. Provided you have an API key generated in your account. Some API methods such as registration do not require a key, however has a cooldown to prevent spam. Anyways, it wouldnt be hard, infact not hard at all to hook MCM up to the marketplace to sync over account details allowing you to use your MCM account to login to the market. You could also use the API to sync:

  • Name changes
  • Password Resets
  • User bans
  • Reputation points
  • Notifications
Due to how extensive our API is, we have 2 options (that I can see) of ever implementing this.

  1. We shut down CraftedPlugins, migrate the website to the MC-Market box. Hook up the API to allow account & stat syncing.
  2. We keep CraftedPlugins online (craftedplugins.com) however re-brand as MC-Market (logo's, rules, terms & conditions) and point a portion of the MCM domain to the same box as the CraftedPlugins domain, or just use the craftedplugins domain.
Personally option 1 sounds the most reasonable, however, I haven't fully thought this through as its just an idea, and I wanted to know if you guys had any input, or could provide some reason this may, or may not work!

P.S The current "forum" tab on craftedplugins is just an area for users to chat. If we were to combine forces, the forum tab would redirect BACK to the MCM forum instead, and I would close down the current forum.

As I said, this is all just a concept, but its a pretty cool idea to think on. Please let me know what you guys think!

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Which is what I did..... EXACTLY what I did?
If Mick made a thread saying ''Hey we're considering this, should we do it?'' it'd get the attention of the masses. He could bring up things like the possible downtime, the possible effects (there are however a lot of unexpected things popping up when making bigger changes) and what the problems are with the current one and the possible gain to make it worth it.

I'm not discussing wether this should be implemented (Not directly) but more so the comments on this thread.
