Let's break down the definition of reputation.
- (Merriam-Webster, Reputation)
Noun - rep·u·ta·tion | \ ˌre-pyə-ˈtā-shən \
1. The overall quality or character as seen or judged by people in general
2. Recognition by other people of some characteristic or ability
3. A place in public esteem or regard: a good name
4. The common opinion that people have about someone or something: the way in which people think of someone or something
5. The overall quality or character as judged by people in general
6. The overall quality or character as seen or judged by people in general within a community
-
TL;DR: How the person is perceived in the community and his quality as a character in the community.
Why is reputation a big deal?
- Reputation helps you decide if you can trust the user you want to do a transaction with.
There are typically three places that you will find a reputation on a user. Positive or negative.
This is a great way to check someone's reputation. Make sure to take into consideration what the deal was and how much was transacted.

Reputation System (ZDesigns, user profile)
Service thread vouch's (ZDesigns, user profile)
Before I continue, let me explain how to check if a user is an impersonator (imposter).
There are three steps I personally take to ensure I myself am not dealing with an impersonator.
Step 1:
Always verify on-site. Simply shoot the user a private message like this.
Step 2:
Make sure you are not talking to an impersonator. Users will use fake letters to make you think they are using the actual user's discord. You can put the user's discord in this website text slot and check! https://characterchecker.com/ (Zyger, Fake Character Detection.)

As you can see, the "e" are fake characters. Therefore this is not the actual example#0000.
Step 3:
This step isn't always needed but it doesn't hurt to do it.
Check if the discord has their other profiles linked.

As you can see, SwaggerSouls has his YouTube and Twitch linked. Therfore that detirmes he is not an imposter.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's no simple way to decide if a user is reputable. Just take your time and look into his profile. Don't just trust the user because of their reputation amount or vouches. You as an individual need to take into account everything and decide. Having 5 posts doesn't make you not reputable.
- Thanks to Zyger and ZDesigns for helping. Apologizes for the horrible citations and everything. I'm trying to figure out what works best for threads. I'll be updating this all the time with different tips and tricks. Let me know how I can improve the thread!
