If you head over to the Contests and Giveaways section, you’ll notice an abundance of “Paying $3 for a server name!” or “Paying $5 for a plugin idea”.
I believe that users holding a contest for “ideas” should be required to choose a winner (the best name/idea), and make that winner known on their thread when the contest closes, regardless if they don’t like the idea.
Users can simply open a contest, collect names/ideas, and then close the contest with the excuse of “Didn’t like any of the ideas”. And then a few months later, use one of the names or ideas a user suggested on their contest, for free
If MC-Market were to require a winner, regardless if the contest holder is fully sold on the name or idea, it would thwart attempts to get free names and ideas. It would ensure users are rightfully paid for their brainstorming.
Let me know what you think!
