It's commonly known that resource updates go through no sort of approval process, so we're of course not blind to the fact that members can easily upload rule-violating content within them - this is when we heavily-rely on reports from the community to ensure these violations don't go unpunished.

However, being able to catch these violations when they occur before the resource even goes live will always be an added benefit to the community, and not one we'd want to compromise on because you have X amount of posts or reputation.

We also look at whether the resource meets our quality expectations, publicly lists any dependency download links, provides an adequate description, is in the correct category, and whether the product is as-described, to name but a few. We'd see a large spike in low-quality & rule-violating resources if the approval process was bypassed for even just a small subset of our users, and we'd have to fall back on community reports which serves no better of a system.

Again, another greatly articulated and informative response to mine and the communities proposed suggestions.
I completely understand that the current system is much easier on yourself and many others within the MC-Market team.

However, I feel like resource producers should be given an ETA on how long it'll take to process their resource, again I know this is a burden on the team and could be giving out false hope due to the possible high demand in the upload of resources, however, I feel it would increase the work flow and remove the burden of people complaining about their resource not being approved within X amount of time.

Also, I do understand that we can't expect to have our resource approved almost instantly as it involves a lengthy process of going through every uploaded resource and checking for anything malicious. I believe there could be some brainstorming within the MC-Market team to potentially implement something in order to streamline this process and ease the workload on the team as well as satisfy resource producers.

I'm not complaining, but just trying to come up with some sort of plausible solution to a problem. I'd like to use myself as an example, I've been waiting 2 days to have a thread template uploaded, again not complaining just using a real life example as to why I've made this thread.
How about premium members get put above normal members, supreme above premium, ultimate at the top. It gives more use for the ranks, it doesn't change the RM's workflow as much, and it should be easy to implement.

Not sure if you would be open to the idea, however management could possibly produce a thread where it gives the community the opportunity to give feedback on current and future systems within the site, this could help functionality and possibly decrease the work load that you guys experience on a day to day basis if you were to find a plausible implementation to any obvious problems.
Our Suggestions forum is pretty much where we gather community-submitted improvements and input on those improvements, but it would be practically impossible to suggest changes to our internal resource moderation workflow without knowing what that current workflow is.

Just on a side note, I finished the ZIP archive extractor that I worked on a few months back as part of those tools I was wanting to develop to streamline our workflow. It extracted a 174MB ZIP file ~80% faster than WinRAR: https://gyazo.com/008cdf352a64030a058204a30ed8996b

You could see how applying that sort of performance benefit to RAR archive extractions and plugin/server JAR decompilations could save a fair amount of time.

I was thinking that you guys could possibly add the standardised time-range in which it takes for resources to be approved in this section.

The wiki article linked does outline the amount of time you'd expect to wait, but it was written in 2016 and is very optimistic for the number of resources that're submitted in 2020/beyond. Approvals within an hour happen once in a blue moon, let alone a few minutes so we could certainly update this to be more accurate of today's expectations.

How about premium members get put above normal members, supreme above premium, ultimate at the top. It gives more use for the ranks, it doesn't change the RM's workflow as much, and it should be easy to implement.
This only shifts and extends the wait time for non-upgraded users, which isn't a solution at all. I'm pretty sure there was a recent suggestion wanting to apply the same principle to support/tickets, and it's something management is definitely against.

Should resources be instant approved for Premium and Supreme Members?

Hello everyone,

I've recently decided to introduce some of my work that I've been working on for quite a while, when doing so I discovered that in order to release a resource to the public it must first be reviewed and approved.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that this is a process that must be taken seriously to ensure that people aren't selling sketchy resources, however for people who have actually purchased premium or supreme they should at least be able to bypass these checks.

I'm not sure how long it actually takes in order for your resource to be approved but it's been over a day for me currently, I can see where this could be possibly frustrating for those who own businesses and are trying to sell their resources.

I know what you may say, "It's necessary to stop potential things from happening, it's only a few days to get approved", however I believe resources should be instant approved by members who have purchased a rank within MC-Market as this should count as some sort of trust/loyalty to the site. Of course, if something were to go wrong or something was sketch about a resource, there would be moderators on standby who could easily navigate to the resource and remove it.

I feel it would save a lot of time for both moderators and members of this site.
I'd love to hear some discussion on the matter for those who agree or disagree, I'd also like to say that I'm not here to start an argument, just trying to get other peoples views and opinions on the matter.

Current Constructive Criticism

As of now we currently are on the same page in regards to potentially making some sort of implementation of a process where members of this community who have some sort of presence / reputation will be able to potentially bypass or be processed much faster through the approval system

Other potential solutions may include an application system in which members of the community will go through a reviewing process where moderators will decide whether or not the person is eligible for faster processing when uploading their resources to the site.
Yes and no. No, because say the account is compromised, and the person who has been hacked makes a new account and makes a ticket. It could take weeks before anyone is aware they are compromised, then download said possible backdoored plugins.
