mc account sales are gone, which is a large source of traffic for the site. Mc account selling being removed will affect not just that section, but also currency conversion, middlemen, general discussion, and a lot more, I'm sure. Either way, the site is going to see a drop in activity, might even kill off the site, who knows. Sad times.Right, what am I missing? What's the punchline?
Thanks for the context! Account selling/purchasing has been around for as long as I can remember.mc account sales are gone, which is a large source of traffic for the site. Mc account selling being removed will affect not just that section, but also currency conversion, middlemen, general discussion, and a lot more, I'm sure. Either way, the site is going to see a drop in activity, might even kill off the site, who knows. Sad times.
Indeed. Obviously, it's their choice, but they'll be alienating a huge part of the community, one that's been here since the start and helped the site grow over the years. Personally, even though I don't actively sell accounts, I'll probably be leaving soon. MCMarket was a great place to research and discuss about accounts with the community, but with the practice outlawed and 4+ years of account sale history hidden, the site will be a lot less enjoyable than it has been.I thought awhile ago the only thing keeping the site alive is accounts, I think it'll likely lose a lot of member and I'd think die but maybe not due to resources, and people talking in general on here but a decent amount less people will be buying account upgrades.
It seems staff hold that view, as well. I suppose we'll just see where site activity and growth goes from hereI'm just glad they took a stance, fairly sure the Minecraft sales market on here is a relatively small but highly vocal minority.
However, I've never sold or bought an MC account on here so I can't really relate.
I’m happy they finally took a stance and ended the long-standing hypocrisy, but I don’t agree with the decision to remove accounts.
I genuinely despise Mojang as a company. They used to be an incredible company that cared for their community and promoted creativity throughout the player base. Now all they care about is money.
Mojang simply cannot fathom other people making money off of their game. They’ve become bitter and greedy and have proven time and again to be lazy and outright corrupt when it comes to Minecraft accounts.
I also didn’t know the EULA was automatically applied to sites that harbored Minecraft items. Technically making money off of anything Minecraft is against the TOS.
Mojang is too busy trying to monetize Minecraft every way possible. They want us to buy their minecoinsI stg mojang is wasting more money and resources chasing kids that are making a buck off there game than actually improving there security. The fact that mojang does not have 2fa in 2020 in an actual meme.
Site Activity will be damaged but definetly not killed. It seems staff hold that view, as well. I suppose we'll just see where site activity and growth goes from here![]()
