Note: I didn't do much as I am going to go work on my server, but if you want to ask me to show some other form of proof and how it can be faked, PM me or reply below. If I can't fake it, then you should probably stick with that to make sure that somebody isn't scamming.

I am going to show you guys how easy it is to fake proof. This is for the purpose of telling if somebody is scamming or not, or double checking and finding other ways to validate proof.

We will start out by showing fake proof of an account. Let's do Notch, since he should be known by about every single player.

Next up, fake domain proof, sorry, this thread will get lazy from here, I will update it more in the future, I have work to do for my server. I have used MC-Market.org as an example.

Domain - create a subdomain linked to the mcm page.

How did you do the Mineplex fake proof?

Multiple potential ways, can probably edit the .minecraft files in a way to make your name seem like ts notch or there could be a cracked mineplex duplicate for that reason

For anybody wondering, Pugs is correct. If I world downloaded there hub, set up some moving npc's, automated broadcasts of chat, and took a screenshot, I could have really fooled just about anybody, if not everybody as many rely on this form of proof.

Yeah, even then he could add the level.
Screenshots aren't nearly enough proof, you'd need them to join your server or something, and even then....

King2 People have outsmarted this by simply asking the user to join the server that they request.


I'd also like to say that Skype messages are easily edited by anybody that understands just a bit of SQL. This method is client sided, but still can cause a lot of confusion.

There was also a method going around to COMPLETELY edit somebody's Skype messages so it showed for everybody, entirely server sided. It was pretty bad but I think it was patched.


Basically, anyone can be faked over anything and you can't do shit about it.

Best case scenario, although -- what if there's a scam account going around & multiple people have access (just password/username), can't a hacked client(or just google mc skin steal) be used to download the skin of choice?

An example would have been (I don't know who owns it now) "ebola". Rare, but I think there'll never be full safety when dealing in accounts.

You need security questions to change the skin. If you have security questions you have full access and can change the email.

A 'hacked' client doesn't really hack anything and it for sure does not hack into Mojang's database.

I didn't say or imply they hack into any database. I downloaded Cyanit which has this feature. It downloads any skin for you, it's just client side though apparently so my conspiracy theory was indeed flawed.

Manually replacing the steve skin texture? Hence why you'd download one.
