Hello, so recently MC-MARKET decided to say I am not allowed my website
that helps prevents scams through minecraft/online gaming. (i.e stop people scamming you!)

I think this idea they decided to do was incredibly stupid.
I'm just looking to see what you all think about this.

Please cast your vote if you think the website should be advertised on this site.

Probably because it holds a competitors site's link on the site.

I'd suggest removing that and then asking..

A scammer could accuse a innocent person for scamming which is bad
so i agree it is dumb

Well I can see where both you and MC-Market are coming from. These reports could be false and whether you review them or not it may still be false regardless. MC-Market staff may have decided this to be not allowed as it could result in members not trading with others because of this false report against them. You can also check scam reports as most scam victims would just open a scam report, which you can also check for this on competitors but I doubt scammers would use the same name to scam.

However, if you genuinely review hear properly and all the reports are proper, which we don’t know for sure, then this reduce scamming and make trading more comfortable after a simple ‘background check’.

This is just my opinion anyway, whether anyone agrees or not.

Thanks for the response and the opinion you've given. Members are able to view the evidence for themselves to decide if we made the right choice. People that have been reported and have been approved for scamming on site are eligible for appeal which will then go through a recession and collect all the evidence for review again to see if they're able to get their report removed.

I just deal with f&f and take all my payments 50-50 so I don’t ever get scammed.

Some people don't think like that, They become desperate to get rid of a certain product/account and want to quick sell it.
Therefore they may go first, plus most people trust reputable members but you never know, they could exit scam.

Also, some people get a middleman which i what i prefer to use. But still, scam reports are going live from people that dont take these precautions.[DOUBLEPOST=1522171807][/DOUBLEPOST]
It's because you advertise competitor sites such as [Censored] on your site. If you don't link to those sites, then they'll probably permit it.

I've informed the staff that i will remove it if they allow the thread to go back up

The problem with this is that it will add a fuckload of complications to the entire 'dealing with scammers' thing.

The only reason this started in the first place was because scam reports weren't being handled at a reasonable rate. Once that problem is removed, this site will be obsolete.
I agree it was stupid to just straight up ban it, if for no other reason than that it sends the wrong message. (and the competitors listed on your site)
However, I still agree with their decision to ban it.
I don't currently have the time to type a whole essay, so I'll keep it short.
The potential for false positives, both intentional and accidental, is enormously large here, and there's little accountability.
If staff starts going completely bananas with their scam report calls and banning those that are obviously innocent while ignoring those that are obviously guilty (ignoring the difficult cases where its not sure either way), this site would die FAST, and the problem would solve itself one way or another.

However, if there's a third party that starts doing this (aka you), they'll be able to cause a fuckton of damage to people's reputations with little accountability.
The biggest third-party anti-scamming thing I currently know of in the MC community is the MCAU blacklist. Even that has already had several cases where the accusations were later proven to be either false or largely exaggerated, so they crossed them out while still showing them to attempt to repair the reputation of the people on the blacklist.

I'm very curious how you would deal with discovering that several big cases were false positives.

Once again, thanks for having your say. I can assure you directly that there will be no false reports posted on the site. There may be some cases that are to large/complicated to deal with i can agree with you on that. but, if and when we come across something that is difficult we can then reach out to our friends here at mc-market as in M6Gaming or Lion to help resolve the report if they wish to have there input.

This site is mostly for people that have already been reported on the forum, but also holds to feature for people to report on site.

Just saying you "will" do it isn't reassuring enough to un-restrict the post. Actually doing it will make them un-restrict it.
I know your intentions are good, but the way you're going about it is a bit wrong.

Yes, our intentions are good, but we do not go about saying we will do something without fulfilling what we are going to do.

Thanks for having your say.[DOUBLEPOST=1522172266][/DOUBLEPOST]
How do you intend to separate the false reports from the real ones?

No reports go public without full inspection from our Resolvement Team and then once the resolver has come to a decision they can choose whether to Approve or Reject the case report. If not enough evidence was given the report will be closed and then it will not become public.

well, that's better than nothing I guess. What happens when there's a difficult case and scam resolves on MCM make a different call from your scam resolvers?

I would say that if our opinion differs from MC-MARKET staff, then we will be more inclined to listen and agree upon their decision as they have more experience in this kind of field. If they say that X user was scamming and we thought that X wasn't, The user would be banned on MCM and the case will be approved.[DOUBLEPOST=1522176520][/DOUBLEPOST]If anyone has anymore questions, please ask away :)
