Hello, I was thinking, non-premium users should be able to sell their minecraft accounts.

I got this idea from a post on Doges profile in which someone said 'How am I supposed to buy premium if I can't sell my minecraft account'
This is what a lot of people used to do, buy premium after they sell their OGs if they wish to stay, you could even make a new section such as Hackforums' 'Secondary Sellers' section, a lot of the time it was the new members that bought some good OGs on site, and I personally sold my 'Sprinting' account originally and bought premium.
The main reason that they were not allowed to be selling their accounts are 'scams' but anyone can do that, someone can buy premium to scam.

I disagree because of the math of it.

Ted is a new user. Ted has an OG. Ted is not Premium and wants to sell his OG. So Ted has 2 options.

1. Buy Premium and sell his OG
2. Try to sell the account privately

So lets say that Ted buys Premium, now Ted has -$10. But he has Premium and sells his OG for $50. Ted now has a net of $40.

You're arguing that new users WILL buy Premium if they're able to sell their OG. IF this is the case, then their net worth does not change.

Ted sells OG, gets $50. Buys Premium, -$10. Ted now has a net of $40.

LOL yung bans please tell me how you disagree with math?[DOUBLEPOST=1485021358][/DOUBLEPOST]
maybe someone doesn't want premium? easy as that?
If they do not want to invest into the website, then why should the website allow them to profit through them?[DOUBLEPOST=1485021390][/DOUBLEPOST]Space Any reason why you disagree with my statement?

That's a terrible excuse, workload shouldn't be a problem, if mcm is planning on growing they should probably expand their staff team? I don't see how 3-4 mods are supposed to carry the site

Easy for you to say.

If someone wants to sell an account, they can just buy premium and do it. If they can't afford $10, they have no place on a sales forum.

(If they do not want to invest into the website, then why should the website allow them to profit through them?)

Tell me if you spot anyone that doesnt have premium and is sell accounts http://www.mc-market.org/forums/misc-accounts/ thanks
With the first 2 pages I spotted 2 individuals. You and another. I also spotted less than 5 bids on "OG" names. I.E. GL selling an account through that forum section.[DOUBLEPOST=1485021883][/DOUBLEPOST]It is quite simple. If users want to sell an account through the Minecraft Account section, then they must be willing to make an investment. There is a reason rules are in place. Just because everyone is not satisfied with it, does not justify it being changed. Who likes paying taxes? No one. But I bet you like driving on a nice highway.

MCM has rules for the overall best of the community.

or just use other sites where you dont need a rank to sell it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

there is something called chargeback u know :p
Not all chargebacks are successful.
Not to mention that there's still the problem of scam report overload.

I don't know how many of you were here during the old days of account selling, but I was.
Back then we had 2 (maybe even 3? cant remember) scam resolves. yet there were almost always 3 pages of scam reports open, and about 70-90% of them were account-related.
This is because there is no way to guarantee not being scammed for an account.
The only thing you can do is find a seller who seems reliable, and buy an account that they bought themselves, then buy the TID with it.
And then you're still hoping they don't take it back one day.
This is the reason the original limitation was placed in. And the 'premium' limitation was added to limit the number of users who could post accounts.
If all non-premium members could sell accounts, there would be too much content to effectively moderate. Just hiring more mods wont help either, because almost none of them would have Doge's expertise, and it would likely still not be enough.

yes, someone can buy premium and scam. This is definitely true. However, if there's fewer people there's fewer content to hide in.
If you can't afford $10, how can you afford an account that's worth selling? Unless you got a successful snipe on your main account, which seems a bit unlikely.

The only thing I would like to point out is the arguments against low-rep users.

1.) I won't even consider dealing with low rep users :: How are they suppose to manage to get good rep then?
2.) Low rep will scam more :: Maybe so however do we not remember a few members that exit scam a few grand off many users?
Most of these were Premium/Supreme users with high rep. Rep means nothing its a false sense of security.

Your telling me, if someone's got two really nice og's, however he has no PayPal cash and is looking to become a seller, he should just scratch the idea?

No, they'll just have to get $10 and buy premium, then sell their accounts like everyone else. Not that difficult at all. If they have a few hundred dollars worth in accounts, it's not like they're going to be stopped by a measly $10. So many ways to easily make that much.
