Self bans + vote bans

Two features.

Self-bans, you can ban yourself for up to 48 hours if you're premium or supreme. In order to prevent people from being locked out/for this to be abused we send a link to their email with an unban. Users with an open scam report either cannot self-ban or have the ban manually lifted.

Vote bans, but listen, don't just say it's a bad idea.
We can boot out bad members of the community, but the staff must agree that the person is destructive and they aren't just holding a grudge. The staff should have the final verdict.

What is the point of a self ban? Other then to be able to avoid scam reports. Also I like the votebans ideas. Staff should only be notified if said user gets 20 (example) votes against them.

No. We rarely actually ban people directly. It's only done for scammers, ban evaders and some other very rare cases.
What usually happens is that they get suspended.

Maybe instead you can just limit yourself to just PMs. Instead of the whole site?

Vote bans is honestly a horrible idea and here's why: This can be abused beyond belief. If the community hates a user but he has broken absolutely no rules does he deserve a ban? No! Besides, if the staff must agree they can just disagree to every ban request. Seems pointless.

For people who are distracted in class or for people who are going on vacation so they want to let people know they are gone.

Thats what I said. It can easily be used as an excuse to not giving somebody a refund. Or wanting extra time to stall.

Skill got banned for breaking multiple rules, Ashorren as far as I'm aware was shady by in the end he did refund his buyers.

Not exactly. Not trying to start a flame war, but M6 said he had to refund all buyers including affixes, yet he did not.

This would costs hundreds to get custom developed and has very little function. It's simply not worth it.

Not exactly. Not trying to start a flame war, but M6 said he had to refund all buyers including affixes, yet he did not.

Well I wouldn't blame him for that one. Affixes did leak his Ebook to everyone. However, if he didn't do this he would still be breaking a rule which would make it a valid reason for a ban. If a poll went up to ban him now he would obviously be banned. Even if he made amends for his past actions.

Staff would not agree with that, therefore it would not apply to him.

People on vacation? Or people who are in class? or people who just don't want to be bothered? We can make self-banning during a scam report an instant ban, or manually lift the ban.
