Have you ever made a post looking for a logo or banner to be made, or a build for your server and then gotten a reply like this?: "Hey, we can help you with that over at <servername!> Join the Discord here and one of our freelancers will help you out!"

These are service teams, and all of them are the same. They pick a name, make a Discord server, add common bots like Dyno and a ticket bot of choice, add a general and announcements channel, and off they go.

One thing that annoys me about them is how they treat themselves like a real company. These service teams come and go so quick so I doubt that they are actually registered as real companies, but the admins of the server give themselves and others titles such as "CEO" or "COO", like a genuine company would. They also rename popular bots that aren't made by them to "<servername> bot", lowkey ripping off another developers' work.

I am currently in a server such as this that I will not name, so I will simply call it "server". Server released on May 18th, and now it is already dying.

But Emily, why should these stop? It just looks like someone wanting to make their own team to help others out!

It's because they waste time and steal clients away from others that may need them more. Having so many of these that disappear so fast wastes time for freelancers that could be doing bigger and better things, and also wastes time for clients who are looking for a service to be completed but can't find anything other than servers like these. Freelancers that do not want to be a part of these teams because of the reasons I just stated above get their clients robbed from them as a result.

Some service teams out there may not be like this, but I have yet to find an example of one.

Please leave your comments, thoughts, opinions, and ideas in a reply. I'd like to hear them <3

People pretend to own actual companies all the time outside of service teams. I wouldn't target them specifically for this. Plus, "stealing" clients over could just be business. People choose what best suits them and that sometimes means making changes in what they use.

What I dont get is why freelancers join them for '90%' of commission when they can just get 100% without a team

They probably believe they can make more deals within a group which is usually not the case.[DOUBLEPOST=1559150249][/DOUBLEPOST]
Yes in the time you couldve been playing with your barbie dolls you typed 3 paragraphs instead
Paragraphs are 5 sentences long and these "paragraphs" are looking a bit short

Even if that was the case, the user clearly still put some more detail that makes it not a post farm (for example, they went through the effort to save, edit, and upload a censored picture) and still clearly put some information in the post. If this was post farming, they'd be a lot better to go to the giveaway section and just do some of the 500 posts that are like "Guess a number 1-5000"
The point of a giveaway thread is to give an item away, not to write a well thought out essay on a topic. Plus, people aren't going to post farm there because they actually have to give something away.

Yeah, but as I said there are much better ways to get more posts. If you're referring to the user "admitting" to it in this post, I read that as sarcasm. Either way, the user was definitely not post farming due to this post.

A post simply saying "5" is considered a post. I wasnt referring to the people posting the giveaway, I mean for commenting.
I mean the people who created the giveaway set it up that way. Have you considered that maybe they just want to enter the giveaway?

Service teams are meant for kids who want to be imaginary CEOs and middleman transactions for a yearly profit of $1.62 without putting in any real work. They are just a meme at this point. Its just the next "trend" like hosting companies and we can all just pray it will pass soon.
