Alright. I had a bit of a shoutbox ranting going on at the time of this post. Let me just get this straight and clear.
Not all sales representatives are bad or as lazy as the ones I've met so far.
Lets move onto what the thread is about. What do I mean by a "better sales rep"?
This is the scenario(s) that I've gone through within at least 4 times in the past 24 hours with several different service teams that I've gone to (not going to slander/name call them out for fear of this turning into a flame war)
Scenario 1
Scenario 4
Scenario 5 Targeted toward Service Team Owners

Lets move onto what the thread is about. What do I mean by a "better sales rep"?
This is the scenario(s) that I've gone through within at least 4 times in the past 24 hours with several different service teams that I've gone to (not going to slander/name call them out for fear of this turning into a flame war)
Scenario 1
- I post a thread
- Sales Rep posts a copy paste message or a slightly customized template saying Come join our service team discord and create a ticket, I'll help you right away!
- I join, make ticket.
- THEN THEY ASK ME Could I get your thread link? (probably to just copy paste that into a quick commission post and hope someone will take it so they can get EZ money)
- Me: Can you get it yourself? You're the sales representative here and I'm a potential customer, please treat me like one and go do your job.
- I post a thread
- Sales Rep posts a copy paste message or a slightly customized template saying Come join our service team discord and create a ticket, I'll help you right away!
- I join, make ticket.
- THEN THEY ASK ME Could I get your budget and timeframe?
- Me: ... Did you not read my thread? I literally posted these on there.
- Now admittedly, I double check my thread to make sure I did post what they're asking for just to make sure I don't wrongfully bash at them.
- I post a thread
- Sales Rep posts a copy paste message or a slightly customized template saying Come join our service team discord and create a ticket, I'll help you right away!
- I join, make ticket.
- THEN A FREELANCER JOINS .... and they decide they don't want to take the commission. Fine I can understand that, NOT the SALES REP'S FAULT.
- Except... now another freelancer comes in and asks me questions that I ALREADY ANSWERED BEFORE.
- It is my FIRM BELIEF that SALES REPS should read the chat, understand what the client wants and then brief the freelancer who wants the commission so they don't repeat questions. Its YOUR FUCKING JOB to REPRESENT your service team. Fucking take a minute or two to read through the message history and make sure your fucking freelancer understands what I want!
- Continuing off of the endings of any of the previous 3 scenarios...
- I now have a bad image of a "management company" that apparently "manages" 3 supposedly "different" service teams if the sales representative ticked me off.
- Starts with an "S" ends with "Inc." I'll say nothing more
- Like what is the point of being a huge company that apparently "owns" 3 other "companies" if you can't even get your sales reps throughout each team to be professional and amazing. Hell you guys don't even share freelancers with each other across all your discords so I'd have to go to every different team you own to increase the chances of my request being taken.
Scenario 5 Targeted toward Service Team Owners
- The ticket is there, no one has picked up my commission or a similar parallel of scenario 3 happens.
- I then ask for someone to get me a "capable" or "competent" freelancer and an administrative or owner types out ":^(" in response to me typing out "My opinion of service teams is ever diminishing."
- If what you're about to say could be taken as passive aggressive or just act unprofessionally, don't say it. You just ruined the image of your service team with that unnecessary silly smile. Your potential customer is clearly in distress and if you have nothing reassuring to say, shut up. I left a service team just because of this. Their name starts with A and is the name of an antivirus.
