I am sick and tired of seeing bullshit posts of brand new users asking for loans/investments. You can argue "just ignore them" but it's still annoying. I think setting a minimum reaction count of 25 and message count of 20 before users are able to create there own threads in that section would reduce the bs by a lot.

SpigotMC does this with certain sections of there forums and it makes the environment a lot cleaner.

SoldierAlex mind elaborating?
I disagree, I've seen little to no low quality posts. It would also cause many, many users to spam useless things such as "GLWS" to be able to ask for money for one of their projects.

Ummmmmmmm, not gonna be rude since you're high rep but:

and that's only from 2 pages...

It would also cause many, many users to spam useless things such as "GLWS" to be able to ask for money for one of their projects.

That is what the report button is for (only if overdone)

All but 3 had over 20 posts. I do not believe a restriction is the best idea, maybe heavier moderation.

Ratings are not rep so they would not be very useful here, however, post amount would be. I would think 50-100 would be more reasonable due to the fact that if they would be post farming we would catch them by then. If it is as low as 25, they could do it quietly or after a longer amount of time and be just as threatening. Also personally, as Doge said, account age should be accommodated.

As much as we say that ratings are not rep, let's be honest that a lot of people treat it as such.
Still does not really matter as that is not what they are meant for, if we set it up to be that way, it would be different, but that is not the case

I'm just bumping this because it really needs to be added...

Minimum post count and certain lifetime of your account should be required, maybe 100 posts and 1 month old account, investments/loans are a big thing and everyday I see more and more new users making threads for investments that aren't even unique ideas. There should probably be moderated posts there too, and someone in charge of approving / denying posts in that forum. Would make it so much cleaner.

In that case, one of our very own moderators, Coco wouldn't even be allowed on the forums has she has under 100 posts. I strongly disagree with this suggestion. I have recently started loaning and I've found out the different characteristics that scammers and genuinely good people have. I know many people who haven't used the forums a lot and are under your criteria that are genuinely good people who want to take out of a loan. We shouldn't restrict certain business to certain users because they decide that others aren't good enough.

I didn't say you need 100 posts to use the whole "forums", I said for investments / loans. Not sure how you think allowing users that sign up make their first post asking for hundreds of dollars or possibly be trying to scam should be okay, but there should at least be moderated threads in that section, even users with 100 posts and one month account time make dumb investment threads.

Well we all know why Coco got moderator Kappa and regardless she doesn't do loans so it doesn't matter.

Ajdin add this already.

Neither did I, I simply pointed out how we shouldn't limit users from using or making a certain service because they decide they don't want to get to a certain amount of posts. It's easy for you to take that away from someone else because you have over 100 posts but when you're on the other side, it feels a lot worse.
Not sure how you think allowing users that sign up make their first post asking for hundreds of dollars or possibly be trying to scam should be okay,
I'm sorry, I've never seen a new user sign up and their first post is asking for over $20 even. If that happens, it must be very scarce as I, personally haven't seen it.

I have no idea why decide to call them "dumb" threads. A lot of them have legitimate reason as to how they will pay you back. If you truly think that a member will scam you, you can easily ignore their thread and move on. Many users, however, want to expand their business. Limiting the amount of users they can loan to isn't going to help.

I've seen many, or users that have less than 10-20 posts making them.

Because they are pointless and aren't anything anyone would be interested in investing in, they are unfamiliar with how making servers work and don't know that you need to be unique and not be a generic factions server with nothing special about it.
If you truly think that a member will scam you, you can easily ignore their thread and move on.
Instead of leaving the thread for an unsuspecting user to get scammed, the smarter thing to do would be have someone managing those threads and can easily prevent that from even being seen by a user so they can't scam them.
