Setting up a server host

Hello,
I am interested in the cost of setting up a server host. This isn't involving a datacenter etc, what I mean is how much would it be to purchase a few dedicated servers from a service provider such as OVH or LSN, buy the multicraft, whmcs, web design etc.

But on a budget, so when i say web design I don't mean all these things that involve jquery that cost hundreds and have all little popup colourful boxes etc, just something that seems legit that doesn't cost the bank.
If you could let me know what the variable/fixed costs are (estimated) so I can work out the amount of servers sold to break even.

Maybe he just wants some advice about it, anyone can google the price of dedis, but he might want someone who has used them, and knows what would be best for his hosting project.
