(I posted this in "Setups" and was told it was the wrong place, so I am posting a near repeat here).

Hello!

I am helping to set up and manage a server. We have a dedicated server ready have a MineCraft server installed and the (already purchased) MultiCraft GUI installed.

What we are looking for: We are looking to pay an experienced and professional person to help us get started.

Our Details: The server will be survival, PvE, vanilla. It will be a small community server of builders and players.

Machine Details: The dedicated server is from ReliableSite and is running Debian

GUI: MultiCraft

Plugins to be set up: WorldEdit, WorldBorder, WorldGuard, Essentials, PEX, Prism, Multiverse (Core and Portals), DynMap, a chat plugin, a staff chat plugin

The server and the MultiCraft license have been purchased and are ready to go now! We are looking forward to hearing from you and especially to be working with you.

BONUS: We are also wanting a large custom world built (terrain only) as soon as possible. If you or anyone you know does that, please let us know.

Will this be paid
Hello,

Are you asking if we are going to pay someone to do the work? Of course! I thought that was a given here.

If you have experience with dedicated servers, MultiCraft, and plugins - let me know. We can talk price, etc in PM on here.

Thanks!

I can set up your server with those plugins, shouldn't take more than 30minutes. Probably less than 10 depending on speed of the dedicated server. Contact me!

Your title is misleading.
"Setup and Installation for Dedicated Server and MultiCraft"

I think that means you want your dedicated server setup and multicraft installed. Can you please clarify your title.

running Debian
Out of curiosity, why Debian?

Ubuntu is nice and easy to use, a lot including me use that, I can also understand why people go for Cent OS, and a lot do. But why debian, very very few people use that for their dedicated servers.

Why Debian? I need to state first that I have zero experience with Linux. The default from the server company was CentOS, but two different guys that were supposed to help, but flaked, suggested Debian. I had the server company change it to Debian.

We can not change it to anything else now without being charged $35 (They offer a once per month change free of charge). We can not wait a month to get the server installed because we will then be out the money for one month's rental. Changing after we are already up and running would wipe the server clean. . . so we are now stuck with Debian.

Like I said above, I have zero Linux experience and don't have an opinion on the subject. Everyone else, however, seems to have a preference.

I'm surprised a host would try and charge someone $35 to install an OS. Every host ive ever gone with, its been free and completed in under half an hour. Sounds like they are trying to milk the customers for every penny, something like that should be free tbh. Debian should be fine for what you are wanting though. But might if the person setting it up doesn't have a great deal of experience with it, take them a little longer to do so. Most Linux distributions are very much the same so its easy to learn an unfamiliar distribution, but some of the commands can be different.
