he limits it up til 11pm and then returns it at 6am

This could be good for you — 11pm is a great time to go to bed. Use this limitation to fix any problems you might have with your sleep schedule! You're lucky that he sets a downtime limit rather than an overusage limit, because you can use this to your advantage.
Go to bed at 11pm, wake up at 7-8am, and then it's just like there's no limit at all.

Go to bed early wake up early then it dosnt affect you. Staying up late at your age is a bad habbit to get into.
I have a horrible sleeping schedule, and 100% agree with this.. Though it doesn't help that I suffer from insomnia. My dad did the same thing, he turned it off at 10pm and switched it back on at 9am, and I couldn't get to sleep until 4am. So I can see both points 100%.

It 100% helps stick to a routine unless you have something medical that stops you from doing that routine.

I've dealt with this with my own dad, and probably from 11-15 it was annoying, now at 17 with a 11PM bedtime, its really understandable. So, heres my suggestions, get a grandpa(like mine), who battled cancer for 5 years, over came it and got cancer 6 years later, who dies May 30th and go visit your grandma, ez bypass(yes my grandpa really died on the 30th)
Ok you are either really troubled or retarded.

One question, do you have control over your life?
The answer is no.

hi mcm im just curious coz I'm 15 and recently my dad has decided to limit our wifi time : ))))))) do yall think it's fair? why, and why not xd (he limits it up til 11pm and then returns it at 6am)

I just don't see the need to limit the wifi, my thoughts are if he limits the wifi we'd actually be more 'addicted' to our gadgets since we have a limit.

i don't consider myself as someone who's addicted to their pc/phone.

edit: its currently lockdown and is our summer break
Simple answer: No

When i was 12, my father decided to limit my internet use aswell. He disabled the internet starting at around 11pm untill around 7am.
Me, as a young 12 year old dickhead, reset the router. logged into the router using the base password and then changed the password so he could not add this limit again.

My father never bothered me with this again.
Sadly I don't live with him anymore.

My suggestion is for you to add an application to all your devices that track your usage. Subtract the time that you use it for education, and you're left with what you use on "pleasure"
a week has 7 days. If in 7 days you have more than 28-35 hours of "pleasure" You are addicted, regardless of whether you believe you are or not.

Furthermore. Going to bed at a late time as a young person is awful for your brain development and eyes and concentration.

Matter of fact is. There is no structure strong enough to keep the willed out. You could re-enable your internet if you think it is worth it. The question remaining is, do you believe it is healthy for you to?

ps. If you believe is is healthy for you to, show your father the data you have collected and prove to him that you need the time.

Cmon now, my dad's done this several times and I've bypassed it everytime. Its got to the point where he yanks the router out of the wall ever night and hides it.

- Blocks your IP; Windows 10 has a feature to change your IP
- Blocks websites; VPN
- Shuts of wifi and only keeps ethernet on; get an ethernet cable
- Yanks router out of the wall; Get the spare router.

I would always tell my mom that I’d stop spending a lot of time on the internet when she stops drinking two bottles of wine every night. Needless to say nothing has changed...

I had the same thing for a couple years until I turned 18 if you could believe! I can understand the concept of it, but I really do agree that it actually increases your time spent using the devices as you feel like you need to take advantage of the time you do have available.

Only bypass I can see is either, sit down with your parent and discuss why you think it isn't necessary and prove that it isn't needed. ORRR buy an unlimited data plan :p

As long as there are not issues in their life, little reason to do so. Give them some responsibility!
