In a sense it is a deterrent, but then in a sense its with reason. Trash posting is dis respectful to that who is trying to inform the public of what they are trying to do with their thread.
Posting your opinion although negative is fine, it is your opinion.
But posting several posts just trying to degrade that whom posted the thread is once again disrespectful and not needed, you can post you opinion but then going off topic and then stating your emotions for another, and then continuing to Trash, is more than enough reason.

This is not trying to deter him in a way he states his opinions but the fact he keeps trashing this post.
Im fine if he states his opinions, i would just prefer he kept it to 1-2 Posts and not having to continue to bump my thread with unneeded information/posts when it can all be done in 1

I completely understand where you are coming from, but please cite where he needlessly trashes your thread. He was reiterating his opinion and offering information about bugs not getting patched.

Is it rude of him to continue? Yes. Does he have every right to without getting negative reputation? Also yes. Is it right of you to threaten him into silence? Of course not.

You replied to my original message, so in reality I replied in a non-straightforward way as I replied on behalf of sosa's response to your response, so really, you can't say you didn't expect me to reply.

And as ZPower said, the rules strictly state you can't give neg reps as a form of deterrent, and it would be removed by MCM Staff.
