Skytopia certainly seems ambitious with its promises of custom items, mobs, and reworked visuals, but a few areas raise concerns for me.
  • First, your recruitment posts date back to at least September 2023, and you’re still actively looking for staff over a year later. This raises the question: why has it taken so long to assemble a team, and what challenges are preventing the server’s official release? Prolonged development can sometimes impact community confidence and interest.
  • Secondly, the store only offers "shards," but it’s unclear what benefits they provide in-game through the store itself. If Tebex is your primary income source, are shards sufficient to sustain the server long-term? Premium themes, development costs, and other expenses add up, and it’s unclear whether your current monetization strategy is cost-efficient or sustainable.
  • Additionally, your Discord boasts 1,615 members, which is impressive. However, is this reflective of your active player base? If the server is in open beta/not officially released yet, how many players engage daily? A large Discord following doesn’t necessarily guarantee an active player base from my point of view, which is critical for an MMORPG-style server in this day and age.
  • Lastly, do you have a clear financial plan to support the project moving forward? With at least a year of work already behind you, ensuring cost efficiency and long-term sustainability is crucial, especially if the server’s income relies heavily on a single monetized item.
Skytopia has potential, but addressing these questions transparently could help build trust with your community and attract the staff and players needed for success and make sure joining the team is mutually beneficial for both.

Hi! I appreciate the time that you put into your reply to my thread. I would love to give you some answers!

Firstly, this project has been in development for a long time. The server is complete but due to other time commitments that I and the team have had, we delayed the release.
Second, Shards are our "In-game currency". Essentially you buy shards and then use them to purchase things through an in-game store. That includes ranks, cosmetics, battlepasses, and more.
For your 3rd and fourth bullet points, I would be more than willing to discuss them in private. Please add me on discord: WorldLyf
