Hello guys, I started my Minecraft server on October 3rd. That was a good time, everyone was happy seeing we could all play together there.
I was the owner, with another boy.
I was the head, the CEO of the project, and that boy was the "developer"
We started with a big budget so we waste all 50$ we had on the first moth of the host, when we could've only spent 10$ while we developed the project. But we had to start high, that was a bad idea.
Well, since we had a spawn made by our people, some shops some configured plugins, we started having some daily players that were having fun building their homes and all that stuff.
Well, since we slowly were doing some promotions, spamming there and here (I know spam sucks but we were desesperated)
We reached then 10 daily players, then I was becoming a bit nervous, and yes, was expecting that but you know, "too much people" made me happy, at that time, we only had ONE purchase on our shop.
So I had to hire some services with MY OWN money, I purchased some schematics, some advanced plugins, at the day of today I regret some purchases I did, like 50+$ I could've spent on other thing.
Well, then I had to beg some friends and "rich" people to invest and telling them there was going to be a benefit... You know how this ends already, right?
At the end of December, we had a peak of 32 players, anyways, total sales: (2).

I've hired some builders, some management staff, paid lot of unnecessary things I thought it could be worth it.

A few days ago, I marked my project as dead due to lack of money, for mental health I couldn't keep wasting my own money...
I thought of selling the whole project, accounts, etc. Here, but as being an Spanish server... I don't know if MCM will be interested in purchasing it. I hope so, I only meet to recover half, at least, money I spent.

Go to Established Servers forum or check my posts if you, a good person, would be interested in purchasing my server... https://www.mc-market.org/threads/650770/#post-4777965

Sorry if I had any spelling mistake, English is not my main language.

Regards to you all,
Jorc0

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I would propose a 4th option to the poll: Re-evaluate your expenditure, see where you can save, what you can optimize and improve. And most of all do a little research in:
- Donations, (figure out the perks players might want to get, etc.), maybe you are not offering the things that players want to purchase?
- Figure out how to promote donation perks to the players. It's possible some don't even know there is an option to donate.
- Pricing for donation. Sometimes it's better to lower the price to $1 and get a few sales instead of keeping the price at $10 and get no sales (as an example).

Building a community is a lot of work and if you have already reached 32 players that is a really good achievement!
