Staff Applications

A lot of people, have been complaining about the current staff situation. I say we bring in a staff application system, with the following terms of similar.

- You must be premium to apply
- You must have x amount of posts
- You must be on the forum for at least 3 months
- You must have no/few recent punishments

Then all new recruits become a "Trial-Moderator" ranking, in which they are evaluated. If they do well, they are promoted to full mod.

Let me know if you think this is a good idea.

I see where your coming from, but the reason they added that you need a rank is why the hell would we promote someone to chat mod if they have no experience in the chat?

Well isn't that pretty much the same logic used in picking the current staff? How have they been doing as staff members? Pretty terrible.

I think having a rank to apply is necessary because then, they would be afraid of doing bad things in worrying to lose their rank / money.

Hi, do you know there are other types of staff besides just mod or shoutbox mod? resource mod and scam report staff... how do they "need" ts or sb? If you can honestly give me a reason of why they NEED sb and ts to do their job ill drop it.

I think we are good on sb mods/normal mods. There's enough people getting kicked from the shoutbox and threads being locked to know that. We need at least one or two more scam resolvers on the staff team. Also having another resource mod wouldn't hurt the site.

If not X posts is just a number which could be given a value, which isn't stated here.
It's just a value to be chosen by the admins.

For all the people saying it's a bad idea to make premium a requirement, I think it's necessary to weed out all the people who are inactive but don't have premium.

I think a decent compromise to the whole rank requirement thing would be users being allowed to only apply for scam resolver and resource mod if they haven't purchased a rank. Why should they be allowed to gain access to the shoutbox and other sections of the forums for free when dozens of users had to pay to be granted access.
