I understand where you're coming from, and I didn't call you stupid but if they were to enforce such rule. MCM is merely a network to connect buyers and sellers, they can in no way enforce how transactions should or "must" be made, or even create rules for such thing. Flipora
simply having the rule is enough to scare some away if I can tell them they're breaking MCM rules

What would "scare some away" even achieve? You'd be pretty much reversing the "roles", you'd be the one forcing someone else to make a transaction with G&S, so it's pretty much still the same problem occuring.

I think G&S is more fair though because if theres a false chargeback the sellers have a good chance to win the chargeback and so while it is weighted more heavily towards the buyers, it is closer to the middle than F&F is because the buyers get nothing and the sellers get everything.

It's actually much easier to chargeback and win a dispute if the payment was made via F&F.

As such, the following enforcement is now in effect:
- Users found to be funding leak sites by paying them off will have their accounts suspended.
- Users found to be requesting leaks from these leak sites will be suspended.
- Users found to be paying leak sites for exclusive access or perks will be suspended.
- Users who refuse to end their funding/requests will be permanently banned.
- Users found to be a member of any leak site staff team, or otherwise providing aid/services to them will be permanently banned.
Note: Punishments will not be issued for new policy offenses committed prior this announcement.
You may want to include (explicitly) users leaking plugins/other content to leak sites, as well. It can be difficult to prove, but if proven by the use of a unique token, for example, this should be a permanent ban as well.

Many of them do not actually buy content, people give them it and they publish it.

This was stated in the thread as well:
Prior to today, MC-Market has suspended those found to have leaked content they don’t own, and we have permanently banned those found to be uploading unowned content to leak sites.
However, this is not enough to fight the financial support and sustainability of these sites.
Starting today, we will be expecting more from our community members who have been paying these sites their desired ransom, and thus encourage them to continue their extortion of others.

As stated in the thread, using these sites for good and moral reasons will not be punished for.
It is merely what is listed that is punished for:

I’ve addressed the subject of leak sites which have other sections on page two of this thread, as well:
I recommend creating a support request to explain the individual situation, however, if you are a staff member on a site that promotes and supports leaks, then it matters not what other services they also provide, you are supporting leaks, and that will not be tolerated.
Funding sites which participate in the practice of leaking our users’ content in addition to offering other legitimate services is still funding sites which participate in the practice of leaking our users’ content, and is covered by these new policies.
If you find yourself in a case which you feel deserves explicit attention and explanation, do create a support request and we can look into it with you so that there is no misunderstanding of our enforcement regarding that particular site.

Honestly this right here makes me want to start an organization that specializes in copyright security for game related market places. I know for a fact a site called udemy which sells skill related things has an anti-piracy policy and will sue any website (assuming they deny their cease and desist letter) pirating their users content. Most people are like minded enough to finally take it down after a law suit is opened especially if they are a minor as their parent would force them.

Should we even take MCM serious?. I have waited over 2 weeks with a report opened up against a user with valid proof of a Scammer that changed back against me. The staff's response, well the report is still open and they think it's ok for the person that charged back as long as he/she pays me back. So, in other words, they're forcing me to trust the scammer when he already has shown that they're untrustworthy. So MCM tolerates charges backs but makes up this rant post about trying to crack down on users for other sites.

Here's my tip. Maybe focus on cracking down on the issues on your own site. I figured there was 0 tolerance to my report. The staff has shown otherwise, so for me to take your crackdown post serious is laughable.

Y'all ain't standing firm at all nor enforcing it just another thread saying but not enforcing.

Leak websites are being profited 90% from sellers on mc-market and spigotmc where they pay a fee (e.g. $10) to get their specific resource removed entirely from a website

They opened up a whole new website dedicated towards leaking builds now. Good job MCM. With a single post, you brought down build sellers. Should have kept us under the radar.[DOUBLEPOST=1556393495][/DOUBLEPOST]Justis
“They” Nice try, but nobody cares about your new website.
MC-Market and its community isn't done with you.
