I learnt to code mc java first by just watching youtube videos. I wouldn't recommend this approach because the code I put out initially was shit. I learnt java at university for the majority of last year. Coming back from that to mc java was so much easier, and I was able to code things a lot more coherently. It is important that you learn to follow java conventions, this will make your code easy to read and follow - also remove as much duplicate code as you can by making generic methods.

There are a lot of free java courses out there - I would recommend doing those first until you really understand object orientated programming and java specific code techniques. That's just my opinion from how I learned :)

EDIT: Use intelliJ to code, its the best IDE out there - there is also a minecraft code plugin to help set up your project space.
Thank you for the advice my only worry is the if the UDemy course teaches in Eclipse I much rather use Eclipse is my only concern

Yeah fair enough, just go with what you feel comfortable with, you can always change later.
That's what I thought! Thank you though very much!

Morosis Definitely would not recommend the udemy course. If you have the money, get spigotcourse, it's so much better and the person who teaches the stuff is a really good teacher and a really good programmer.
