so, recently ive seen alot of people giveaway free and untaken semi-og names.

doing this also boosted their rep by 10, someone even 20.

ive given names but i havent gotten rep and it isnt really fair to get 20 rep in a day from mass giving.

lmk opinions and if you disagree why.

I disagree, if someone creates something, others find the service is valuable and enjoyable and they decide to plus 1 rep the user, we have no right to interfere. Just because you don't find a users service to be as valuable as someone else's, doesn't mean that their services aren't worth a reputation.

so i can spend about 10 minutes of my day finding $1 semi-og's and get 20rep/day? No.

Also ive seen the person say "Sold me a Semi-OG", which will potentially gain trust of new members who could be scammed.

Then again, how will we stop it... Who is going to be that guy, that looks at reps and reports them... You'd be pretty hated.

You'd be pretty hated becoming reputable in a day by spending 10 minutes too.

Tbh if this gets banned, the people will just go on to selling Semis for like a dollar or less. And just get a lot of rep and they’re not technically breaking the rules. And their rep would say stuff like “bought a semi”

This is where I think a limit should be set on how rep can be given in terms of dealing. I think any deal under $10 shouldn't be allowed for rep. Sure, money was exchanged. But I've seen tons of users do a lot of teeny tiny deals, get rep, and exit scam big amounts. If you do a $3 deal it shouldn't really be "Rep worthy".

A good example is Poland.. He has only 1 positive rep, but it says "Bought a optifine cape for $1". $1, wow. Big dealer in the house.

I think you get the point.

Nope, 20 reputation in a day isn't fair.

Its fair... Get people to rep you 20 times. You can too.[DOUBLEPOST=1503627612][/DOUBLEPOST]

You're just salty people don't give you reps. If you want those reps do the same thing. But if the reps are alted / made by same ip /person then they should be removed.

Really? People don't give me reps? I have 115 of them. Yeah, that's the problem...

Because you do what your trying to fight. People saying "Nice guy good to work with" really isn't a rep I can get 500 of those if I tryhard like you <3

Or you can do a loan service and risk losing $100's, lol.

Once again, it comes down to this site's obsession with quantity>Quality. If someone's reputation is 80% "vouch, gave me free shit" and then paraphrased, nobody in their right minds would count it as legitimate feedback on the business in question.
Honestly, I personally regard reputation of such low quality/origin as similar to negative rep. It demonstrates that you need random stuff like that to gain reputation.
On the other hand, the entire number in general seems counterproductive. It encourages quantity thinking, despite each reputation having the potential to mean something completely different.

Example (this is not meant to as negative, though it may come across as such) you have 41 reputation. I have 15. Your reputation seems to be mostly about selling accounts and emails and stuff. good, that means you're way less likely to scam, if you did that 41 times successfully.
Mine, on the other hand, is half about providing an active service and half about just helping people out (with a few LQ ones in there that are honestly almost embarrassing).
These give a completely different impression. One is of a successful and active businessman, the other is of a helpful guy who provides a decent service (impression of the reputation, not my own view!)
Why am I saying this? Because it means that if someone's reputation is all "gave me free stuff"(full circle) then the impression they give is "will hand out free stuff, come get it!".
As such, if they're looking to actually do business, they're stabbing themselves in the foot by doing this. And therefore I believe that the need to forbid this reputation version of vouch-copies is minimal. Especially since a lot of it probably falls under non-constructive, or should anyway

TLDR: Due to the crazy focus on quantity we have here, these guys think they're getting something good. They're not, really, and will hopefully realize that. If we start focusing more on quality, their entire practice fails. As such I don't quite think it's needed, though reporting low quality rep for "non-constructive" might help.
Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
