I agree, these changes are completely idiotic. They're turning this site into a joke. Disagree 'reactions' are being abused, and they'll continue to be abused. Why they didn't disable them in market sections at least is beyond me. That just illustrates their complete incompetence. The word 'reaction' is a joke. There was no reason on God's green earth to ever change that. This site is now one big meme.
Removing shoutbox ads was the worst "feature" of this update. They're driving away from the marketplace side of this site and turning it into a social gathering. Why did they even reorganize the forum sections if they're doing this shit? They should rename the site to MC-Retarded Conversations and Forum Posts because that's what they're aiming for.

I support Devon and agree with him completely. Anyone that agrees with change for the sake of change is not a very bright person.
If anyone here actually thinks that adding disagree negative ratings to a site filled with one of the most immature userbases I've ever seen is a good idea, I don't know what to say to you.
Shoutbox advertising is something Monty and I rarely do, usually just a few times a day. However, I have noticed that many new members contact me via PM shortly after advertising. It is something that gives our thread exposure given that our thread is located in a subforum that many people do not visit. We've earned a good deal of money from the exposure we get from shoutbox advertising and it being banned directly affects our income on this website. And why was it removed? Just to prevent interruptions to completely useless discussions that take place on the shoutbox. This is a marketplace and the market should ALWAYS come first. Social shit comes second. tjrgg has lost sight of that.

Its because they are new. People wont use them as much in a week or two.
They'll be abused no matter what. There's no reason to 'disagree' with a sales thread and yet I'm positive people will do it. If someone makes an alt account and uses it to go disagree-bomb someone they dislike with negative ratings, do you seriously think that staff would do anything about it? They've already said they have no way of mass-removing ratings. It is something that will definitely be abused and already is being abused. Adding a disagree/negative rating will single-handedly destroy the entire ratings system - which honestly I think is rocket's intent.
No, it's because the members of this site are extremely immature and will never be able to properly handle a negative rating. The second someone sees a post made by someone they dislike they are going to give the disagree rating. This is exactly what happened to the funny ratings and why they were removed. I don't understand why staff would add this after they saw how much the funny rating was abused. Did they learn nothing? They literally had to remove it from the total rate count because it got so bad. People were crying on the front page because they were being spammed with funnies, but no, staff thought it would be a good idea to add an even worse and more easily-abused rating.
