Leave the site how it was, the majority of the users liked it for the most part. This reactions thing, disagree ratings, etc.

This isn't some bullshit for "Change is hard", fuck that shit. They fucked it up with no need to.

#MakeMCMarketGreatAgain<3
I understand they changed stuff when it wasn't broken - and I'd rather keep the old system, but I mean, change happened, and there really isn't anything we can do about it (unless rocket wants to take the communities feedback) except face it and get used to it.

I cba to read it, but from what I read people wanted the old one (were a few things weren't added)[DOUBLEPOST=1457974264][/DOUBLEPOST]Plus I was banned for 2-3 days
Some people want a full revert, most people just want to revert the ratings thing.

Although I didn't really like the changes in the beginning, and yes I still do not, I realized that change happens. Change is hard but once people start getting used to this new change it will be easier to adapt to the changes.

Regarding the issue with Doge, I'm almost 100% sure that Doge had no say in these changes and this was an administrative decision between rocket and maybe Mick.

I am slowly realizing that rocket did this to make MCM better; and the reason people are so unwelcome to this is because the way they are running their services and all have to do with vouch copies and other things. With the new system, vouch copies are being given falsely as the numbers haven't been fully recounted yet.

I agree with you that users should be able to comment on the way administration are handling things. We should definitely have a say.... I'm sure the majority of the community would say no to the changes because of their lack of perception.

I understand that it is hard for many users to see that this change will bring benefit and I still am struggling to see the benefits, but it happened, and it is for the better. It's rather sad that people are leaving because of this.
I'm sure Doge didn't, that's a problem. If you have staff, they should be trusted to have common sense and a smart intellect. You'd be surprised at what you can achieve with talking something through and getting perspective.

As far as users leaving goes, most are just being over dramatic. I've seen it a lot before. The ones that truly and permamently leave are members you probably didn't want anyway. If a little rename and an extra rating makes some babies cry, you probably didn't want them anyway. They're more mad that shitty logic like vouch copies, reputation through posts, "funny abuse", etc. has been removed. These are the same people whining when funny was neutralised, and the same people that liked the idea afterwards. Funny was an abused rating. People got rated "funny" if they made a stupid post or if someone disagreed with them, or if they generally weren't liked. Funny was positive, not negative. People cried becacuse it brought their "reputation count" down.

And when people like Sloth say you understood the difference, it's evident you didn't. So perhaps it isn't me who hasn't paid attention (and anyway, I don't try to, this place isn't somewhere I do business). As for my understanding of life, I'm not on a game console forum selling stuff. I'm just here laughing at people like you when I'm brought here. And off to the gym I go ;) - cya.

"and off to the gym i go - cya"
inb4 your some mcdonalds kid eating his fucking daily dose of big macs lmao
I hate McDonald's, but it is good to get some extra junk calories in if needed. And no, I haven't left yet. I'm going in like an hour, that was a clear witty comment.

edit: btw, big macs have lots of calories, calories are needed to maintain and build muscle... so yeah... bodybuilders and powerlifters alike would be eating a lot of junk calories if they're big enough where they can't get it normally from a clean diet.

xD, only thing I really missed was being able to advertise in shoutbox. That was legit the only reason I was able to sell my CSGO inventory. Ratings, Reactions, who cares?

I'd like to start off by saying, if you aren't going to read this entire post, please don't respond to it or "react" to it.

There are a few things I don't understand here.

Back in January the entire staff team agreed on transparency and being more open on the entire forum. This would also include changes, additions, features, etc. Now, if you list all the updates that have been made in the past 3 months(ever since me and rocket took over), you'd notice most of these changes were discussed within the community through suggestion posts and whatnot. Usually when we came up with an idea, we discuss it with staff, then make it public to the community and see where it goes. This wasn't done for small changes that didn't affect the forum too much. Simply because we don't want to spam the suggestion section.

Same goes for this entire update. This update was being planned and setup for a really long time. Simply because we used to take our time to avoid any issues. When I say "time", I'm talking several weeks.

I resigned exactly 10 days ago. Almost everything inside the update was being discussed for weeks before I resigned.
There was almost no talk about rating changes.
The fact tjrgg and Mick didn't get in touch with any staff members before making this change is just disappointing.

All these rating changes: the system has been there since almost the beginning of MC-Market. There honestly weren't that many members complaining. Was there confusion with ratings/forum reputation? Sure, this confusion was usually caused by fairly new members and people usually explain very quickly that the system isn't forum reputation. But honestly, if you are going to deal with anyone for an amount higher than $50, it would only make sense if you inspect the users profile and recent posts to see if he seems somewhat trustworthy or not. Don't decide to deal just because with someone they have a silly high green number on their profile. That's just you being stupid, lazy or ignorant. People will still do it even after all these changes, except now the system is just buggy and completely unreliable.

Here's why the change should have not happened: Most of you didn't actually notice what changed. If you go to your profile and look at reactions:
3078132f-2339-42a5-bf8d-30270aca3c31.png
All the numbers on there are white/gray (depending on your forum style).

Here's my rating on another forum which has all it's ratings positive:
fe6c7d90-5632-460b-bce6-adbc13a1082d.png

From what I remember before, the only rating that used to be gray was the funny rating since it was neutral. So after rocket messaged me to fix an 'issue' with ratings, I looked at our Xenforo settings and noticed he made all ratings neutral. Of course, this goes against the purpose of the addon so it somewhat bugged out.

From what I'm getting here, all ratings are being counted positive (even though rocket wants them to be neutral as stated in the settings), we just don't see it. The entire rating system is bugged. A fix would be to reverse everything and recount them.

I'm assuming it's simply bugged because the rating addon somewhat relies on Xenforo's default like system for the "like" rating, hence why you see "likes recieved" on your profile and postbit on some cases. And making that neutral is simply asking for issues.

Making all ratings neutral was never announced in the announcement post they made? Any reasoning behind that? I think doing that affects the forum more than adding a disagree rating since you're basically killing the entire system. Here's a quote of their announcement that's related to the rating changes.
Ratings are now reactions!
Ratings are going away. But don’t freak out! It’s not what you think. All that’s happening is they are being replacing with ‘reactions’. So, it’s going to be the same as before, just with a different name. That’s not so bad, right?

The reason behind this change is that this is exactly how we see the system. Those little icons on each post are ways that you can react to a post. It makes sense to say that you are reacting to a post and not necessarily rating it. When you press the “Funny” icon, you are reacting to the post, not rating it, right? Hence, the change to “reactions”.

With this change, we’ve added a “Disagree” reaction to the list. You should see this new icon everywhere you can react to a post.

Not a single word about making them neutral.

tl;dr, rocket wanted to make all ratings neutral. The addon used for ratings was never made for all ratings to be neutral, it's bugged out and a lot of the counts are incorrect. This change was also never discussed with the community or announced

Now, I understand when they make a change, mistakes can happen... It's possible, we're only humans.
We've made a mistake for the Trade feedback system! If we released the same addon without the requirement of having a deal with the user first, it would most likely still be here and less abused. Guess who's idea that rule was? Rocket's and Mick's. I instantly noted how retarded the entire idea of having that rule was, yet they went against it.

The worst part is, rocket doesn't like admitting his mistakes. He wanted to give the addon a few weeks to give it a chance to settle in because he simply thought the rule was right and ok even though we have no way to check if a deal was made between 2 users. It allows so much room for abuse that it's crazy.
Now, if rocket was manly enough to admit the mistake of bugging the entire "reaction" system out, he'd reverse the change and move on. But of course, he thinks he is always right.

Rocket should stop thinking that this is some church forum and all people are nice and are going to agree with everything that looks nice.
I'm glad I'm no longer part of this terrible management team. I'm not sure what or who's causing it, but I'm glad I'm not part of it.

I think it has been reiterated many many times that there was no need for this update. Most people think that the reason is that nothing was broken, so why fix it, but other people, ho are smarter and more realistic realize that the reason people are so mad about this update is because the community was not consulted. It is horrible to see that not even the staff was consulted (Doge posted his concerns showing that he had no say in the update.)

Parts of this new update are amazing, but I'm really disappointed in the reactions change. The disagree rating and only agree/disagree are both fine, but the rest is complete bogus. If we want MCM to return to its former glory, we'd go back to ratings, re-count the ratings PROPERLY... And make disagree & funny neutral.

I just became aware of this bug that is going on with the reactions and I think that the only reason this happens is because the ratings add-on isn't supposed to be messed around with. We are supposed to just leave it as it is and cofigure the types of ratings given (disagree, etc.)

About the bug: it's crazy -- people's pages are showing different reaction amounts then when they post. And I can almost swear that I had a way higher rating count before the switch...

I love the wiki update though.

No, that'd be stupid. The reason they're not all green is because they've been neutralised. It doesn't mean the overall tally of ratings change. It just means their weight is nothing. The post ratings tally shows how many ratings were given and received, not their weight. A simple rebuild fixes it. This isn't 1000 BC where we believe the Roman Gods shall smite us if we play with the five elements dangerously. Thou shall not touch the Earth nor the Fire. It's technology, and technology allows the administrator to choose rating weight...

He's saying ratings are neutral but still counted as positive. Sounds like to me he didn't rebuild the rating counts. That's not bugged, that's just a half assed change or not done for whatever reason.
