Supreme Rank

Allow so that people with supreme rank can add an animation to their name.

Let's be honest people only bought supreme so they could get the gif as their profile picture. or to delete threads that whole other list of perks is irrelevant.
It is basically a cosmetic only rank nothing major happens with it.

I suppose adding more cosmetics wouldn't hurt continuing on with my Background thread I think Supreme should be able to not only have a yellow name color but be able to have a sort of animation around their name.

Other sites doing it isn’t a good excuse. Our job is to be the best, not be the same.

Considering 'other sites' like the one used as an example are 21 months old and have a userbase comparable to this site at over 4 years old, maybe something like this change would help.

Ima agree with Justis those flashy names do look cancerous sometimes but, what I personally think would look nice is a glowing effect around the profile picture. A cool thing for the name tag would be (Again, my opinion) a comic book effect where the name tag is animated, not effects around it

Give me an example of an animated name that isn’t absolutely cancerous to look at.

As of now, I don’t believe it’s possible to find one.
If this site was filled with animated names, I’m certain I'd burn my laptop in embarrassment for having ever used this website.

Let's get over things being "embarrassing" on a minecraft forum... I think none of us really care at this point what's "embarrassing" because it's completely objective. You may be embarrassed to read out loud in front of the class while someone else may want to do it every time to show off their public speaking skill. If people want animated names and the only issue is an adult on a minecraft forum thinking it'll be "embarrassing" then I see no reason not to give people animated names. As for the argument saying it'll make people with money not want to enter the mcm economy because of this, is ridiculous. If people with money are considering spending it here animated names aren't going to drive them away, the people behind them will. Anyway people with purchased ranks keep this website alive and denying them a simple name animation for the previously listed reasons is irrational. Appreciate your users, keep them happy, don't make arguments based on if you feel embarrassed.

I’m really sick of the argument “this is a minecraft forum” and “this is a block game forum”. Just because we cater to kids doesn’t mean we have to act like we’re run by kids. We can aim to be respectable at the same time, and that’s exactly what I’ll do.
You mean subjective, not objective.
Nobody’s saying individual preference doesn’t exist. We’re talking about target audiences, which, as you know, have tendencies. I want MCM to be inclusive for all of our target audiences. Not just the ones with the most ranks currently, which means sometimes you have to tell the kids “No”.
Assuming that people will want to engage in business transactions in a community that looks like a gradeschooler’s playground is what’s ridiculous. Animated names may not make the site laughable on its own, but the general idea behind it will, and I keep a firm line to prevent us from continuing to spiral that way.
Ranks are a one time purchase. People who purchase ads are who keep this website alive.
I appreciate our users. Not just the kids with ranks, but also the adults who would rather not be embarrassed to use this site. Asking me to favor one over the other just because they hold more ranks at the present time is short sighted.
I have the best interests of the entire community in mind, present and future.

I want MCM to expand and become more mature, inviting more respectable and trustworthy individuals into our community pool for everyone to deal with.

Do you know what our reputation is like on Spigot? Do a search for our name, and you’ll be appalled. They see us as a forum of little kids scamming each other. That is the most accurate description of their image of us. Do you want it to stay that way? Do you want to continue to validate their presumptions?
Pretending that’s not the case, and repeatedly caving into these ridiculous and unnecessary suggestions because a group of kids wants it is only going to further lead us down the road towards uninviting and shameless laughableness. Eventually the only people who will be willing to use our site are the people who fit the boot associated with us.
There are more important things than a sparkly name.

Instead of custom ones, maybe just add variants of namecolors that the user already has (I.e if you have purple and green and buy supreme, you'd get like sparkle purple and green or something)

I don't like adding changes for the sake of it, and this seems like one of those changes. The more cosmetic features that we add to users, the more unprofessional I believe it makes our site appear to be. I hate having clutter and useless features on the site, and animated username colours won't be coming soon.
