Going to make this a full video, tell me what you think.

The Science of Open-Sourcing

As many may know, there are a ton of developers on the market. Some are good but others are just mehhh. Only around 10% of those are actually good. Why’s that? Here’s a story.

When first beginning my journey through development, I got burnt out a lot as I only was looking to accomplish request. The only benefit of my work was for other people. I was not happy with my position. Then one day came and I was like: “I want to make an autoclicker”. For long I had predicted I’d do windows apps, but I had not envisioned I would try it like this.

And with that story I present the art of open-sourcing. In the past 2 weeks, I have learnt more about programming than for the last two years. Starting with only bases I learnt the starting point of C++ which is for me an extraordinary accomplishment. C++ has the reputation of being one very hard language to learn and code in, especially when it comes to interfaces and memory reading. I usually give up on these sort of things within the first day.

I had for a long time been bored when coding, yet this time I would just continue my project. I noticed a different mindset. What if I was happier because I was doing it for myself, without the need to constantly re-adjust things or market it, update it. All these things are just things you don’t need to do when Open-Sourcing. I am not expert but with no doubt I share this story to bring passion to the developers. Are you constantly bored? Create an objective for yourself, publish it and get some feedback. I now see it with my own eyes, most create developers on the market have dozens of open sourced projects they had originally made for themselves.

I encourage developers to consider this approach: don’t try learn by working for others, work for yourself and you’ll learn on the way.

Opensource helps everyone people can fork your work if they want to make changes ect. One example is sentora hosting panel anyone can make there own version.

I agree with open source, people can just .gitignore sensitive bits such as security features and stuff. Sounds dodgy and like "lazy prick" but I personally learn from deconstructing code and seeing how it works.

It is actually proven to be the most efficient method for learning how to code. Good job on doing that already.

Thanks. As an aspiring a web developer it's easy to learn now a days due to modern browsers built in tools such as console, inspect element and tools alike. Easy to use :)
