Thoughts on Hytale.

My thoughts on Hytale are very mixed. I appreciate what Hypixel has done for the community over the years, and Hypixel's assets are continually staggering and certainly take some time to appreciate.

In regards to Hytale, I do not want to see Hypixel's current stature in the community somehow deteriorate if some of their focus goes to Hytale. Personally, I don't think it is going to go very far. I hope that they make money off of it, continue to support it for a year or two, and send it down the road of Club Penguin. Hypixel's main asset has been and will always be their network, not some side job. I don't want them to lose focus on what they spent years building for Hytale.

I agree. I think of Hytale as one of those knockoff Minecrafts, although this is the first one that is well put together. But still, none of them ever stand a chance against the main game.

I have only read the first page of comments, so I'm not sure if this has been said before, but my thoughts are simply that even if it does well or does bad, I think those saying it's going to kill Minecraft are a bit idiotic.

Simply because people grew up with Minecraft, I've been told by multiple server owners that they're afraid their server will die, or that they're migrating over to Hytale because they're afraid, which I think is a bit overkill, I think starting a new server is okay, but completely transferring? That's a bit dumb.

People grew up with Minecraft, there's no way in my opinion that Hytale is going to be bigger than Minecraft, Minecraft was such a different thing at its release that it generated more hype, Hytale, in general, is another version of Minecraft, even if it's better, it still is just another alternative to a similar game, the actual original game, Minecraft.

I think Hytale, in general, is cool, it's neat to see a Server actually be able to get far enough to make their own game, get endorsed by Riot games themselves and get really far, from a Server Owner pov, I think that not only motivated me, but lots of server owners, don't underestimate the power of the Internet, no matter how much a meme owning a Minecraft Server is.

Haha, yeah. An associate of mine says their next season of Prisons will be in Hytale. I suggested to wait and see how it turns out before you advertise that.

I completely disagree with the analyzation of the business model question that they are simply avoiding it. Its a rather honest answer and that they released this hype trailer out just for a reaction, not to actually say "we're coming out on this date, be prepared for how we'll make money!" as for the external modding and etc. that was mentioned that cant be edited to the client, Im sure the responsiveness of the Hytale development team will make up for it in making tools for creators to make what they want in a secure way. Its like Steam store basically imo, they have games there and they're secure, few hackers as far as I've heard


I'm just copy pasting this from a discord discussion that this thread was linked in. Not trying to necro post ;P giving my thoughts here and I know I didn't address EVERYTHING from the post. Just whatever I read and care to address toward that I think are the most alarming to me.
