Hey,

My name's Timothy Matthews and I'm a web developer (on behalf of Enduro Web Development) who is currently based in the United Kingdom. As of the 14th August, 2016 - I am 14 years of age (15 in less than a month, woot!) But, don't let that turn you away. I began programming at a very young age. I discovered my passion for programming when I was around 8 years old from memory, and have been writing code ever since. I began writing cool little batch games because it was fun and easy and that is really what got me hooked, the fact that I could take all of this creativity and just make something based around that, no money needed, just some time and effort. So, enough of the rambling, I began web development about a year or two after that at most and have expanded my knowledge enormously in the past 4 or so years, so much so that I can now produce fully functional front-end and back-ends for websites meaning that I am a full stack web developer. I can produce web designs for your company or if you don't have any knowledge in web development whatsoever, then I can create the entire site for you - all for a CHEAP price!

Want to check out my site?
Enduro Web Development

I can create any sort of website, personal or commercial no matter how big or small the project is - I can do it! Since I was born in the UK, English is my native language so grammatical errors will be very rare if present at all. Additionally, should you come across any errors, bugs or just simply feel that the site you've received could do with a couple of extra features, just let me know and I'll be glad to help free of charge!

Interested? Feel free to contact me on any one of these choices below:

Let me get this straight you are trying to sell your "Website Development Services" but you use a template as your website ?

Yeah, I was in a rush when I made that site. Took me a couple of hours at most, I did however write the PHP script behind the contact form and mailing list (information is stored in a database). It's literally just something to store some basic information about me and a contact form to contact me if you do not have access to Skype. I will be remaking it soon when I eventually get round to it. Thank you for bringing that to my attention though, that was pretty stupid of me! :D

No wonder you can "produce websites at a cheap price". You just copy and paste templates and resell them to your clients. What an amazing job as a web designer/developer. Please provide actual proof that you know what you're doing rather than just templates. Otherwise, you're not a web designer or developer and you're scamming people here on the market.

Best regards,

Let's not start spewing out hatred towards my service please, although I know that won't happen because you've clearly been here longer than me and are my competitors. You dislike the fact that I am here attempting to take customers which you could've otherwise had. Regardless of that, I understand it was stupid to use a template for my own site however I've explained why I did this and how I plan to fix it already. Additionally, the thread title is website development. You can have what is known as a back-end developer, a front-end developer and a full stack developer. I specialize in the back-end development (PHP and database management) however I am also good at front-end development and so I consider myself a full stack developer. Also, even if I was to use a template for the sites I plan to sell to customers (which I will NOT) it's still not such a bad thing. Here's why: a template, although it may not have been written by you, is available for anyone to purchase and use and works the exact same as a template you could've created yourself. If you're in a rush to make a site, a template is a viable option because it cuts down the product time enormously. This in turn lowers the price dramatically as less time is spent on development while maintaining the same high quality that you're trying to provide. Take a look at my template and compare it to your website 1AM. The template used for my site still makes it look very high quality and can easily compete with your site, yet was much quicker and easier to make. The end result is a fully functioning, nice looking and modern site which took much less time to produce that the competitors. Either way, the customer receives the site they were hoping for with a fast delivery time and a lower cost. In this case, a template is a great choice. Just trying to make a point that templates aren't such a bad thing, and I know many freelance web developers who actually use them in their projects which make much more money than you're making from this forum. Please do not continue to spam my thread with useless negativity because I've "triggered" you.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hm, okay, let's break down that amazing paragraph you have written out, shall we?

Let's not start spewing out hatred towards my service please, although I know that won't happen because you've clearly been here longer than me and are my competitors. You dislike the fact that I am here attempting to take customers which you could've otherwise had.
Actually, I'm not trying to "spew hatred" on your thread neither do I dislike you because you're "taking customers" that I could have had. I have a pretty good relationship with most of the web designers and developers here on this website. So, no, I'm not threatened by you or your services if that's what you're trying to imply. And I'm not "spewing hatred" on your thread for that reason.

I'm glad that you see using a template for your own services, which is "web design/development", isn't so much of a great idea as it shows that you simply don't know what you're doing and just decided to click the "download" button real quick instead of actually spending a little bit of time and effort into your services and your own website. If you're going to use a template real quick to make your own website, who is to say that you won't for a client you're making a website for?

I do understand that you can't really "show" back-end work that well and I struggle from that as well in some projects that I make. However, there are ways around this including showing projects that you made and how they work, which you have failed to do so. You're expecting everyone to take your word that you know what you're doing when you have shown zero experience in the field.

Also, if you're a full stack developer, then why didn't you just whip up your own site in a day or two? It's really not that hard. I've made pretty large websites in a day or two days. A full stack developer should be able to do that even quicker than I can.

Oh, stop. You know what you're doing and you're trying to cover it up by "but it cuts cost to the client" and "some are very high quality". That's an actual joke. Templates are made to be a quick solution for a website that anyone that knows some basic HTML can easily edit. People don't want your 15 minute copy and pasted template that has some back-end features. They want an actual custom coded site that you spent your time and effort making. They can download their own templates if that's what they want. You claiming to be a "web designer/developer" but yet encouraging the download of templates for yourself and clients is ridiculous. And once again, you're not a full stack developer if you have to run around and download a template you like for a client rather than just sit down for a couple hours and code the website and design out yourself. I'm also very very happy with my own website thank you and plan on redoing it with many more features soon. I would never use a template because I actually am a developer.

Please do not continue to spam my thread with useless negativity because I've "triggered" you. Thanks for the warm welcome!
I'm not "spamming your thread with useless negativity" actually. People on this forum are very happy to see what developers are trying to make a quick buck and scam them and who is not. And you're one of the obvious trying to fill up his wallet with "cheap websites" that you just clicked the download button on and sent to them. You're very welcome for the warm and cozy welcome.

Best regards,

You shouldn't call yourself a "full-stack web developer" if you just tweak templates. That's not at all what I/we do. Do yourself a favor and redo your thread saying you just tweak templates, and that you're a backend dev.

Hey,

Okay, I'm in a bit of a better mood now so apologies for my previous replies, please ignore them as they are full of ignorance. I can see how much of an idiot I've been, I cannot class myself as a full-stack web developer and expect people to have faith in me knowing what I do if the only thing to "back that up" is a site that's just using a template. I'm sorry 1AM also for the comments I made towards your site and the general attitude I had towards you. I'm in the process of actually making the site myself, I will then be purchasing premium hosting along with an actual paid domain name (.co.uk or .com, not sure which yet!) and after that is complete, I will update the links. I will also be producing a portfolio of prior work to show that I can actually do what I am claiming. My service will resume upon completion of these above things. Once again I am very sorry, I have been a complete idiot and this is not a good way to introduce myself to this community. I hope you guys can forgive me as we've definitely gotten off on the wrong foot as a result of my actions.

Thanks - Tim.

You probably should do all of the things you say. Entering in this community is difficult, all of the 'high and mighty' popular amateur developers will snap at you in any way they can. Be careful and be smart.

Its great to learn coding and all but don't you think the prices are bit high? ~$63 USD for a website up to 4 pages is pretty high priced? And you do use templates, in most cases can not be used for commercial uses. I do not like criticizing others on how good they code and etc. I am not the best either but you didn't even link some things on your page like your past projects and portfolio site. And no offense but the contact form was not coded by you, I have seen these templates all you need to do is change the code to match your preferred contact email, header, and etc.

But good luck! Do not stop coding and keep learning! Just don't get too cocky when presenting it to others. No one is good and we all need to notice our flaws. I make pretty nice websites but I don't think they are good enough to sell it to others.

But once again good luck and do not take any of these comments as an offense, take it as constructive criticism.

Did not expect this coming from a 15 year old! Good attitude towards the criticism. You'll do great keeping an open mind. I look forward to your next thread.

Hey,

Thanks for the advice, the prices were just something I came up with on the spot so I fully agree with you, these aren't very accurate as it's quite difficult to give an accurate quote since every site's different. To be honest I agree with everything you've said and will definitely be using that to better my site I'm currently making and to better me as a developer. Just to clarify though, I took out that bit for the contact form which came with it and wrote my own PHP script which writes the entered message and information into a MySQL database where it is then stored. :) Thanks for the reply and I am looking forwards to expanding my knowledge over the coming years, I begin my GCSE's next year where I hope to learn some stuff from Computer Science and Business Studies!

Thank you once again - Tim.
