Tips for motivation for learning to program?

So yeah, i am 14 now and since i was 9 years old i just want to code.

I love the thought of being able to create your own program, i have thought of many programs to make, that could be very successful and cool

I love computers, if i could, i would spend my life on them 24/7, they are the best, i also love smartphones(android).

Over the years i have picked up a few skills, like editing and such.

But for some reason, everytime i start with coding, i end up doing it for a week then giving up.

I still have a subscription with team treehouse, but I feel it worthless because i never use it.

I want to make android apps, and then migrate to software, and then migrate to having a general knowledge

I mean for god sake my dream job is to be a programmer.

But idk, i like java and understand the basics.

I just can't seem to stay with a course until the end for like 1-2 months.

Any tips to combat this?

Find a reason to code, for example, you own a Minecraft server and you wanna make a lit plugin for it or you own a discord server and you want to make a bot for it.

Find an example of what you want to make and expand off of that, once you learn the basics of the language then you can start creating programs from scratch

PS-> I don't find those autistic web courses useful, I learned by just looking at others code picking up new ideas/methods of the specific coding language.

i see you, and GitHub is a good resource? also is treehouse good to learn?

My dad is, not me. GitHub was founded in 2008:

I started learning when I was ~4-5 years old, so 2006/2007. 2008 I was still really in the early stages still (I couldn't learn as fast when I was younger, but I could learn easier). But no, I'm 15.
